Dragonflight Story and Representation

I disagree we men are super evil and toxic and we like it that way! Women please save us all!

All of WoW’s story is fan fiction though.

You realize the company is a tad left leaning. What did you expect. DEI is here to stay….for now anyway.

You ever find it weird and perhaps funny it looks almost like it’s pronounced just like die? Maybe that’s just me.

Again and for brevity I’m not going to reply to any one specific player here.

This post was about asking for equality.

I’m a champ for both great males and females.

Married with a 5 year old daughter.

Both genders, all sexualities, races (even vulpera and trolls) deserve a fair shake and great story telling.

Only painting men as baffoons, mentally broken, or illogical is just mean.

Granted in wows history, women may have not had a spot light to stand in outside of minor roles, but I can’t remember a time when they were intentionally written poorly or degraded for the sake of promoting others.

Sadly, I feel it’s not just wow but entertainment industry as a whole, which is unfortunate as I like many of you have a lot of time invested here.

No I’m not trying to flame here, again calling for balance.

The Overdoneism is going to continue as long as companies can still profit from catering to the demographics most easily parted from their money: mostly youth.

The profit motive has been keen on this for decades.

Eg (from 1971): “I’d like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony…”

Yeah it does seem kind of weird to write men that way. I think it seems to indicate the writers underlying views of men in general as incompetent, weak, and/or dumb buffoons.

There are of course smart men in the game as well.

Some part of me is hoping the devs are taking feedback both positive and negative in stride and listening to the community.

The problem is: if you have either, the story will not be politically correct.

Why is the OP flagged? There’s nothing wrong with ppl asking for representation

It’s to the point now where I’m surprised when a thread isn’t flagged, regardless what the topic is.

I’m all the male positivity this game needs. Bask in goblin glory!

Yup. The characters aren’t bad because they’re strong female characters, the problem is the only thing that’s notable about them is being female. They’re still unbelievably boring. It’s like you know a restaurant will be bad when they have those “insert race here” owned signs on them instead of showing pictures of food.

I do agree with this tho, I think it’s more so the writers are writing more for themselves. In their own fantasy world these are the types of villains they would want to fight and take down, without realizing they just need to seek therapy irl.

Pretty laughably disconnected response.

It does not bother me what orientation/preference/whatever some character is.

I do care about it feeling ‘organic’ instead of shoehorned as WoW tends to do.

From software has plenty of strong female characters that do not feel forced, for example. This is my opinion however.

Still remember the bat-woman trailer when she puts on the suit and says something along the lines of “it would look much better on a female.” Now that’s just puke and terribly forced.

Insecure Male syndrome is a bleeding epidemic. Social equity is so scary. Hold meh beer!!!

I’ve yet to encounter any dialogue where males are treated as second class citizens and to be frank, there should be. It’s a fantasy game, misandry should be represented as equally and with as much disdain as misogyny.
