That was funny. But I find Wrathions tantrums funny anyway so that whole interaction was great
Every time I hear something about ley lines, I think of mana crystals crushed into powder and poured into nice lines on a table ready to be snorted.
He also spent a brief period of this expansion reuniting the Blue Dragonflight, not to downplay what Ol’ Kalec has been up to lately but he did have growth and development without being made to be incompetent or pass on the torch.
I never said all I cared about was numbers.
I didn’t ask for that.
That’s good.
None of your business. Pay my $12 a month sub and I might consider telling you.
Art imitates life I know and there is culture wars in real life and those that want to paint over balanced representation and make up “9 years” or whatever of lost ground and have an only female cast.
Part of me believes that is blizzard in part to try and remedy their own internals following the discrimination and assault cases internally.
From a business perspective I understand that, but from a consumer standpoint, as a paying customer, I’m unsatisfied with the product and offered a suggestion to have a more gender balanced story that includes space for everyone.
Rather than feeling like they need to make up lost ground on culture points.
Honestly, I don’t believe you’ll leave WoW anytime soon, if you’ve played BfA and Shadowlands. Because it can hardly get worse than that. In general, the quality of the story in WoW has never been particularly good. I would say it was better at some point, but with things like TBC, Cata, WoD, etc… your standards must be really low if you still thought those were great.
But of course, to each their own. But again, if bfa and shadowlands wasn’t enough for you, I don’t think you will ever quit because of the writing.
Actually I said 9 eras of WoW, which is 18 years.
good thing I didn’t play Shadowlands then.
The story in this game has been pretty terrible since BFA. I really enjoyed following the story in Zandalar and Kul Tiras ( which was also a bunch of powerful women leading their factions). But I couldn’t tell you anything about the quest narratives or stories in DF because the story isn’t interesting. The writing has been a huge let down since SL started.
Actually, I’ll give a point to Revendreth as well.
The ember court was done pretty well I think as well with a gender balanced cast mind you.
I think what WoW manages to do a bit better sometimes is smaller side stories in between. The overarching story, on the other hand, is absolutely dreadful.
But yeah, in Dragonflight, there hasn’t really been anything worth remembering. Well, and the thing with the Worgen now was a complete joke.
Apparently wanting to speak in a calm and civilized manner with offering suggestions deems me as toxic and I have been flagged o7
Oh no a minor character is female. Like who cares? It was less than half of the Azure Span questing.
Oh no one society out of many in WoW is matriarchal.
What? 1. When was Chromie in charge, and who said Nozdormu was bad?
So? This is a problem how?
But you’re ignoring how Razageth was female and also bad
Your entire complaint is “omg there are wimmenz in prominent roles”
That is exactly the thought process of many current day content creators. Kennedy’s Star Wars group, Marvel comics and cinematic universe, WoW, etc. There is a desire to “right old wrongs”, but very little nuance or creativity in how they do it. It’s a lot of overcompensation, which never works. Clearly characters, and the WoW world has to change as time goes on, but good lord these people do a poor job at crafting that story.
That’s how they party in Suramar.
Btw, just wanted to point out the hilarity of this post.
If you had actually read his OP and not jump on me so quickly then you would have used this reply for him.
He’s the one that doesn’t really want to fix the problems, he just wants more male representation. Reread his post. It’s not about the story, it’s just whining about how males were underrepresented. The only thing I did was point out that he got male representation 18 years out of 20 years.
There was no agenda behind my post but there’s definitely one behind his. But, stay mad at me for whatever reason.
How can one stay mad at a tauren. They’re adorable.
Asking the real questions.
I don’t think you know what male positivity is.
I feel like people complain less about female leaders when they are waifu material…
As a woman, I will say however that it irritates me when modern stories try to “support women” by making all the male characters helpless and useless and needing to be rescued by the female characters. It’s as if they are implying women suck so bad we need men to suck even more in order for us to shine? What nonsense!
Also, women don’t need to take on traditionally masculine traits or jobs to be total badbums and absolutely amazing. I mean, of course they can if they want to. But there is so much more to life than that. But modern media and story telling seems to struggle with that too.
