Dragonflight Preview: An Eye on Professions

The more I think on it the less I like the idea of HQ gathered materials, especially with multiple tiers of it.
Unless Blizzard is gonna introduce some, easy/cheap to craft, MASSIVE bags all these do is take up space.
FFXIV learned that this wasn’t a great idea with their most recent expansion and finally eliminated them and they already had a more intricate and involved gathering system.
Just scrap this.

Profession’s sounds way more involved than before which is excellent!, being able to learn all recipes at only 50% Skill cap is a great change, work orders seem like a nice QoL change…

However there’s a few things not mentioned here that hopefully can be addressed soon or in following updates such as, Recipe acquisition, is it possible to learn all recipes for a proffesion without doing all forms of content?, primary profession’s with less overall gear/combat focus such as engineering and how does the crafting quality system interact with crafting toys or Mounts?

Is there any plans to include world content as a means to upgrade gear to mythic quality for players that do not participate in highest end content such as high rank pvp, Mythic raiding or High end Mythic+, Having an extremely low drop rate chance for the reagent from a world boss, would go a long way to help those that don’t participate in that level content still feel they have a means to get those items crafted for themselves, and provide a reason for those with high item lvl to continue to kill world bosses perhaps this could be added to the loot table after RAce to World First is over.

Your statement is disproven by the fact that if you don’t raid Mythic or do high M+ keys, you won’t be able to put in work orders for Mythic ilvl.

Lol.

Like, lol. You’re actually just factually wrong.

Polishing a turd doesnt change the substance. This won’t make it more relevant.

I know I can read and thats dumb. Blizzard is catering to elitists again.

Blizzard is run by elitists. Thats why they got sued. They havent changed since. They are horrible game designers and horrible people who mistreat women.

Lmfao I like where this thread is going :chair:

If the dont have the mats because they are soulbound raid drops cause they havnt killed the mythic bosses and only heroic ones and have a crap ton of heroic mats and there is an upgrade they will. Same translates down normal as well

I’m looking forward to this. Hopefully all main professions will get some fun items to make.

Indeed. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but this is just badges.

And you won’t buy Mythic ilvl gear unless you have the badges to buy Mythic ilvl gear. This is a completely different beast than purely gold-driven leggos.

Sounds like this will be cool. The tiers are what im worried about. Willing to give it the benefit of the doubt as a tailor and enchanter

The reality is nobody is going to use it or waste the mats to craft heroic item level, M+ gear is better than Heroic Gear, so why waste the materials when you can just upgrade in M+ and farm without being hindered by a weekly lockout? Exactly the same reason why BoEs don’t sell if they aren’t Mythic BoEs anymore.

Shadowlands legendaries didnt have souldbound raid dropped items require to make a soulbound item

So with 5 tiers of quality for many gathered materials, I should be expecting them to take up 4-5 times as many slots in my bags? That sucks.

Shadowlands legendaries; nobody wanted any of the lower item level pieces, at all, you were forced to craft them as a crafter, but they don’t sell and never sold.

Because the best way to gear the fastest is to diversify where you get your item, valor cap limits things from mythic plus, vault options also limit this, they will still sell

They won’t sell for the EXACT same reason that lower item level legendaries don’t sell. You’re not getting it.

M+ gear is valor capped.

Heroic BoEs would sell if Mythic BoEs didn’t exist.

Nobody buys “Uber Mythic” BoEs off the AH… because “Uber Mythic” BoEs don’t exist and therefore you as a player can’t buy them and are forced to resort to just Mythic BoEs, just as you as a player cannot access Mythic ilvl work orders if you don’t do content that awards the currency and would therefore assort to Heroic.

You can’t acquire what you can’t acquire.

And yes, people will spend their badges to acquire gear. That’s almost literally the only use for them.

No, YOU are not getting it.

The items are souldbound, your not selling the items your selling the crafting of them from everything i have read.

If we’re lucky their raise the key and score requirements from mythic+ to get mythic level gear to somewhat make it a bit more equal.
