In TBC’s day, blizzard couldn’t wait to release subscriber numbers. Today blizzard hides the steady decline. So yeah, TBC servers were thriving with over twice the number of players online today.
Half of what you’ve listed here, from rotations, to world quests, to transmog, to QoL changes were brought in by previous expansions. You’re saying to compare the x.0 patches and then giving DF the credit for everything over the last decade.
Sorry man. Not going to continue. DF doesn’t compare to TBC.
TBC got binned like the piece of garbage that is, though. Nobody even argued with them about it.
Because those are things you can do in the patch. Just because world quests aren’t a new concept doesn’t mean DF doesn’t have them.
Because TBC is too far below in the trash to compare to retail
Better than WOTLK at least.
Because giving DF the credit for the last 5 x.0 patches is the only way to make an argument that can actually be held.
Fun detected.
Initiating nerfs …
So did every other expansion.
Wut?
By your reasoning, the only thing TBC added was normal flying, and 2 races. Vanilla added new quests / dungeons / zones during its lifecycle, so adding new quests and dungeons isn’t actually new.
You have bad opinions.
Truly, truly terrible.
Because giving BC credit for adding a lot of things to the game is pretty disingenuous when you realize that the game was empty enough that those things had to be added.
That’s like saying Vanilla was the best because it added the most playable races.
He’s talking about BC Classic, which got shut down without anyone really noticing or caring because nobody played it.
Not really a surprise on that front. Problem is the other guy doesn’t seem to be talking about Classic lol.
Possibly. I just can’t think of one single thing in this game that stands out (to me), no quest, no zone, no storyline, no dungeon, no raid encounter, nothing. Unless you are a major fan of gliding, the game is simply boring.
Yeah, wish we had good quests like picking up 30 zepplin parts in a dreary Durotar like hellscape.
And what did BC have that was so much more exciting? It’s the same gameplay loop, except vastly more limited.
People really need to come to terms with the fact that the game hasn’t changed, their expectations for it have.
Then why are you here?
That’s not snark, I’m kinda sad for you.
The zones were better, the story was better, the characters were better, the raids were better, the new races were better, the raid set designs were better, the dungeons were better, what wasn’t better?
Lmao now I know that your rose glasses are too thick to even see through.
BC’s story was hot garbage - “WCIII anti-hero XYZ is now full villain, go kill them because reasons”
Are we forgetting about Vashj’s whole “I’m gonna drain Outland of water just because!” Captain Planet villain motivation?
I agree with this. Mists was a lot better, though I’d say DF is 2nd or 3rd.
We’re so used to 2 mediocre expansions that something being pretty good is being praised, which is sad.
