Dragonflight alpha/beta thread

Taloc looks nothing like trolls.

If the trolls were intended to be titanforged they would have said so at any point in BfA. They didn’t.

Yes, it did seem that the Titans wanted to hide Uldir and MOTHER, as even Ra was not aware of them. Which only makes Trolls being Titanforged more plausible, not less.

Taloc literally uses a Dire Troll rigging frame.

The Curse of Flesh can also alter and size down shapes, as Humans are no longer identical to Vrykul.

Archaedas kept the Chamber of the Heart a secret from the Titan Keepers. Somone was keeping the truth about Azeroth a secret from even the other Keepers including Ra-den. Why would a lowly Titan taskmaster know more about Azeroth than a Titan Keeper?

Dwarves and humans have much more visually in common with their titanforged counterparts than trolls do with Taloc. Taloc doesn’t even have a face. The size difference between humans and vrykul is also not nearly as huge as the size difference between Taloc and trolls, even Zandalari.

The only thing they have in common is the number of fingers. In that case you may as well say tauren came from Taloc, they also have 3 fingers.

Which is more in common than Hezrel has with the Trolls. Titanforged also come in all sorts of sizes, as most Mogu are not the size of Norushen.

My main thing is that outside of the three digits on the hands (the feet do not even have digits), Taloc shares no physical traits with trolls. The titanforged usually have more semblance of their other part, earthen and iron dwarves still have beards and the general frame, same with vrykul, Tol’vir, Gnomes etc. If we ever saw a titanforged troll then we can only assume that it would have something more like a general troll shape, tusks, or something else outside of just the hands. Or trolls would be the first titanforged that we’ve seen not share really a lot of their counterparts traits.

I can’t at the moment actually check if Taloc is based on the rig, but I personally doubt it just from a visual point, Taloc also does not share a single animation with the dire troll model, from attacks, spellcasting, or idle, etc.

Commentary from the Alliance and Horde dracthyr leaders (and a random third one) about the factions and Deathwing.
Dracthyr in general seem to be big about rules and order, judging by this.

I liked their commentary, especially when it came to their opinions on the factions and how they choose to remember Deathwing.

Behold the animations of the login screen.

God Cindrethresh looks like a cool character. Reading that it’s obvious the Dark Talons will fit pretty well into the Horde.

FOR THE HORDE !!!

Really? I found Cindrethresh kind of annoying from this dialogue. Azurathel gives me a better impression. I really liked him talking about choosing to remember Neltharion as a father.

I doubt either one will ever really do much of anything though, looking at Aysa and Ji.

Speaking of Azureathel, here’s his voice:

Sounds like he’s the only dracthyr to have a voice so far.
I don’t really like it, it might as well just be a demon hunter.

Yeah, Cindrethresh looks like that brash, arrogant little guy (isn’t their Dracthyr form model female by the way ?) that’ll get hyped up over anything. I like that. Azureathel looks a bit… bland. What kind of bore thinks the Alliance lacks order and discipline ? His views about Neltharion are interesting though.

Yeah I just find that rather annoying. It’s the same reason I don’t like Ji.

As for Cindrethresh’s dragon form I’m pretty sure the dracthyr model doesn’t have gender differences, only visage form does.

So the invasion system returning for DF, but instead of as a patch content it will be at launch. Every 6 hours, two Dragon Isles zones will receive a Primalist force invasion in certain areas.

I’m not sure when it will activate, like if it required a quest chain or if it will just be automatically available at max level.

There’s going to be a quest active for certain invasions. Like Air, earth, etc that allows you to collect Storm Sigils to collect gear thats 3 ilvls lower than the Vault of Incarnates gear

Sounds more like the Broken Isles or BfA zone invasions than something like the pre-patch invasions from Wrath/Cata/Legion.

I have a lot of nostalgia for the Cata ones, I was hoping they’d do a callback to that given the elemental theme.

There are no objectives on that invasion - The objective there is to grind NPCs

Wow these are gonna suck unless that’s just early alpha.

You do get some cool elemental looking gear out of it though. Each invasion drops Elemental Overflow coins and there’s no cap on the currency.

Also some commentary from Cindrethresh regarding Sarkareth. Seems like Cindrethresh has some history with Sarkareth and has never liked him.

Hopefully Cindrethresh, Azurathel, and other notable Dracthyr will be present when we eventually kill Sarkareth.

What? Not enough order and discipline in the Alliance? That is literally one of the more defining things about the Alliance. Yes, the non-combatant probably are not heave into it but the military branch of the alliance? Come on.
