Dragon Riding = Water Striders 2.0

SO you don’t wanna compromise?

Flight fixes the terrain issues I hate and takes the the PvP Andy’s issues. The last is just an old MMORPGers fond memories

My concern is would they expanse dragon riding to all mounts then it becomes a problem.

A lot of people don’t know this. And what’s crazy, is the game he’s going around propping up is even more casual than this game.

Dragon Riding is the compromise. You still get to fly. It just isn’t as brainless. It actually has game design baked into it beyond hitting a single button and waiting. I will not compromise on this. Actual flying is something I’ve wanted since flying was announced. Blizzard implemented it in the laziest way possible and the game has not recovered since. I’m not budging on this. We are F I N A L L Y getting real flying in WoW. My desires are more important than yours. It is what it is.

In this context though, is dragonriding really more “hardcore”? It feels like the kind of thing you’d see in Breath of the Wild, which is one of the most chill game releases in recent memory…

I wonder if this could be because Blizz hired so many EQ and EQ 2 people?

It seems like the talent than made those games, came here and made this and all the talent here left, so what was left here hired the talent that was left there.

Like I said. They lack vision. I am here to tell them the truth.

This was in direct response to someone saying we want an easy game (using current flying). I just said yeah, I want easy, the way WoW was originally designed to be…

I have similar thoughts, except I want flying available when we reach max level. What if I an terrible at dragon riding, not likely, but what if I am? I don’t want to be stuck, being forced to land and walk somewhere until the end of yet ANOTHER expac.

Whether people want to admit it or not, flying is one of the most popular QOL features of WoW, if not the most popular, and a lot of people on my friends list would come back if the devs ended their war on flight and went back to the original model for it. More people playing means more money, more tanks, more groups, more raiding, more of everything.

I will never understand the desire some people seem to have to take something away from people that enjoy it just because they don’t like it. I play more when I can fly, I stayed subscribed instead of cancelling and waiting for flight to be unlocked, I enjoy WoW more when I can fly. It doesn’t matter what opinions anyone else has, or reasons, excuses, beliefs, etc, nothing will change my mind that flight makes WoW more fun for me, and a lot of the people I used to play with that have quite because of the devs war on flight.

As a mount collector. I will NEVER be forgetting this. I will be fighting this until the day I die honestly. I have spent 15 years collecting mounts, I do not want my collection to be ground only and only have 1-4 mounts that can fly when I have so many others I prefer using right now that I genuinely have put so much time to obtain them.

Dragonriding should unlock regular flight, the system should complement normal flight, please stop trying to render peoples mount collections into complete uselessness. I am actually begging the forums to open their eyes on this one, please.

Actually Acti-Blizz desires and shareholders are more important than all of us. If a large enough chunk of the subscriber base pushes the unsubscribe and cancel button over, it then it will it go away. Ion tried tossing flight in WoD that lasted 2 weeks before he backtracked so fast you think he got whiplash over all the cancelled subs submitted those 2 weeks.

Doing dailies was hardwork?

I also like being able to use any mount I want to run across water.

Also they’re not comparable

And this relates to not breaking the water strider how?

The strider could have been left alone like the shredder was. Mount Equipment could have been added specifically for people like you

False equivalency.

People did not leave WoD simply because of no flying. They left WoD because it only had 2 raid tiers, and garrisons. These factors hurt the game more than any lack of flying ever did. In fact most people I see talk about WoD remember the leveling and questing fondly and hated how the garrison made the game world feel dead. Dragon Riding is the exact opposite of this. You’re being negative for literally nothing. We don’t have any details on this. But just from the info we’ve seen so far everything about Dragon Riding is 100% a positive improvement for the long term health of the game.

If I am wrong I will gladly hold that L.

You promise? Because all the others disappeared or started posting on alts at least.

And I still use my garrison daily. On every character I have. I make them build it…

It lasted longer than ANY raid tier and still is used by people playing an RPG

I myself am not too worried over it. I have a feeling it will not make it into the expansion. This will end up on the heap of failed mechanics that get cut that all expansions have before release.

The only way dragon flying system can be good for me personally is if it’s SIGNIFICANTLY faster flying speed than regular flying mounts at max level. Since they said the new zone is bigger than northrend it’s fair to say we SHOULD be flying faster than normal on these dragon mounts once fully leveled to get around such a huge zone quickly.
