People are making up there own theories on how regular flying is ruined and the game is ruined and this is just so bad and how they’ll never add it and it will ruin the expansion.
It’s all doom and gloom and we haven’t even made it to alpha yet. They say they’re expressing concern but in reality they just want the easy old boring method and nothing new.

I do not trust Blizzard to give back in game options I have worked hard to earn. They have a long track record of not giving back toys or repeatedly taking it away.

BTW: The new customize system looks great, but they did secretly remove the old option to see your customized options in your transmog preview page. It was sneaky and underhanded and it saps extra gold out of me when I realize the hair and transmog don’t go together as well as I hoped. It is yet another example of a “improved” system designed to sneak stuff away.

I couldn’t care less what Ion’s old intentions were. Flying was added back in WoD, and it’s been added at some point in every expansion since then.
Even from a purely pragmatic standpoint, completely removing flying in current content devalues flying store mounts. Good luck convincing anyone they want to do that.
And they have games that cater completely to people like you, WoW just isn’t one of them.
I mean they say you can PvP. The good ones do it competitively, the losers wPvP where there is no skill (even worse than running old raids killing everything in 1 shot).
They do throw you PvP folks a bone every couple of expansions since, well the good PvPers go to PvP games and the less skilled ones need a fake PvP game like WoW to play
And evidently you don’t have the mental capacity to fight anything that is dynamic.
Thus the logic of the inept. Tragic.
I got so tired of seeing nothing but water striders out in the open world. EVERYBODY was exclusively using that stupid mount preflight.
The whole water strider thing was a mistake. Thankfully Bliz fixed it.

If you root for Dragon flying with a toggle option to regular flying, Then may the loot shower ever in your favor.
If you root to allow Dragon Riding to eventually stomp out regular flying…Then may Taco Bell invade your colin at the worst imaginable times.

Actually all I said is this fells like WATER STRIDER 2.0. Some people linked some quotes (don’t know if it’s true or not) but it FEELS like it could be to me.
Excuse me, nothing in a video game will ever make me great. I grew out of that in the 80s when getting top score was thing to impress the girls. I may be a nerd, but I am not so screwed up playing a game, PvP or PvE makes me anything other than good at a game.
I haven’t complained about wow. I am quite happy with it. If I wasn’t it I wouldn’t be playing it. Just because you’re so fragile to want to quit over the smallest thing doesn’t mean everyone else is.
Subjective. What’s not subjective is the skill gap between a pvper and and pver. 
Their a business, there goal is to make money. I to would cater to the lambs too if meant I got to milk them. Why would pvp be the main content when pvers lack the skill to even don’t their own content.
