It doesn’t when it makes ya sick. Honestly, I don’t mind being grounded. They should allow me to skip DR and just go quest.
It’s gone PLAID!!!
Yep, I need to re-download TomTom!
The funny thing is I don’t need tom-tom or any map addon, I’ve just learned how to read maps from an early age and don’t have any issue looking at the location dot on WoWhead and finding the glyph in game.
Yeah, I was finding them without too much issue last night based on a generic map with numbers on it, but some of them are kind of hard to spot.
I greatly prefer DR to what blizzard did the past couple expansions. They always took forever to add flying in
If this is true … OMG … I think I want to marry you
You also need to toggle the “Dismount While In Flight” option in the interface options to do so.
Dragon Riding is literally more engaging than regular flying. You have to maintain speed, manage vigor, there’s mini-games through the new zones, ect.
You can stay grounded for 99.9% of the story line until Pathfinder comes out.
Yes, thats already been done in pre-patch as it accidentally got toggled to the wrong way and I was confused why I couldn’t attack while still flying! Thank you.
I mean, DM me I suppose? LOL
Even here there’s probably more praise than negatives. Generally a small # of posters against it (and who knows how many actual different people) and we’re getting shouted down like 5-1 every thread.
Sock puppets are definitely involved, no doubt. This is why we need more accountability and Battletag on forums.
The hoops you guys have to jump through to rationalize people not liking what you like is honestly crazy.
Do you live in opinion-free worlds everywhere else but here?
The mental gymnastics you people have to go through to hate on it is honestly crazy. Are you saying you would rather the 8 month wait to then do Pathfinder?
To me the questing is a lot less interesting with dragon flying. The zones are very well made, but they are designed for dragon riding and aren’t easily traversible with ground mounts. They are too large with too much verticality.
Dragon flying is ok. It’s a gimmick and it’s probably superior to flying mounts gameplay wise, but having it at the start was a mistake in my opinion.
There is no sense of adventure or exploration for me because you can dragon glide across a zone in 1 minute.
No, we don’t have to have any arbitrary embargoes on flight. If anything, dragon-riding on day one proves that Pathfinder’s long lifespans were always crap.
Hit level cap, pay some gold, and fly. For most of this game’s flying existence, that was all it took and that’s all it needs to take. Welcome to the world of flight that existed before Tuesday.
Personally it seems like if they were willing to give us the vastly superior DR now, they could also have given us the inferior old flying too. It didn’t have to be DR or nothing.
It’s going to be different for each person. In my teens I had no issues playing FPS games at all. Played them day in and day out. Then one day started causing headaches and making me sick. Eventually I decided they weren’t worth it. I have found several games cause it. For example, Minecraft (which is a very common one to cause motion sickness) if I use the default texture, it’s dark (e.g., unlit caving, unlit night time, etc.), and I haven’t played in awhile. I can’t use some of my WoW flying mounts cause it causes me to become sick as well. I wasn’t able to complete a lot of the cloud serpent racing in MOP because it mad me sick, and luckily it was a side thing for the expansion.
The big difference between dragon riding and say a flight path or regular flying is you can look away and allowing your eyes/mind to focus on something in the real world and then back to the game being a major one. Plus at higher speeds there’s the “wind graphic” that swirls around that causes a dizzying effect. Add to it the “bouncing” of your character while flying, even with the motion sickness setting on. All starts adding up for some people.
It’s not that there wasn’t people getting sick by flight before, it’s that before it was easier to avoid or mitigate (e.g. look away, use different mount, etc.) to prevent it from happening.
Mr Magoo plays WoW?
