The no-brainer move here is to
- Make soar dragonriding in all aspects, ability, CD, restrictions, etc.
- Make dragon riding available everywhere.
It’s not even that great in the old world because of how hard it is to pick up speed.

You don’t need a really high mountain, any high ground will do for most of your travels unless you want to go cross map. It’s not that bad.
People quote the max speed like you’re doing that all the time.
It’s more like Super Mario World with the feather cape. You could, with careful management, fly nearly indefinitely. But max speed was straight down, and gaining altitude was a losing game.
The thing is the max speed is the problem, so nerfing it makes sense.
There’s no reason to let it exist if it can creates really big disparities in old content if they don’t give dragon riding to everyone, which seems the scenario that makes the most sense.
Dragon riding itself max speed might get nerfed. Because being able to double normal flying speed is a pretty big upgrade.
This will go down as one of their biggest blunders in history right next to the AoE cap, conduit energy, covenant cooldowns, legion-dairy acquisitions, WoD pathfinder, etc. It alienated people from their game.
And contrary to their supposed reasoning and blizzard apologists, literally nobody cares if one race can get to a part battle 10s faster in a downhill zone with no obstacles.
Do y’all think peregrine falcons fly around at 200+ mph all the time, too?
If they do they need nerfed, otherwise the other birds will feel bad.
Yeah, insult them. That will get them to listen to you.
I don’t care just leave my mounts alone and my flying ,blizz already did enough damage to my strider !
And contrary to people that think it’s reasonable that someone else go twice as fast I’ll raise the maw for example. Tons of people hated druids for going twice as fast. Saying it’s just downhill when you can fly a whole zone from some hill is minimalizing it a lot. As you’re balanced on your maximum potential. Lowering the high end is normal.
It doesn’t remove anything much so I don’t see why. Most people won’t play Drac’thyr anyway.
So you mean we should put energy on the Dracthyr ability to cap it’s usage more for the realistic experience. You’ll also fly slower if your inventory is more full or not.
Yeah cause it’s so insulting to other birds. Poor little birds that can’t get 10 seconds faster. xD
Literally doesn’t matter. There are tons of zones where it does work and anywhere it doesn’t work then fine just use regular flying. But the argument of “we didn’t design zone X with dragon riding in mind so we won’t even let you try to make it work” is the kind of anti-choice, fun-killing garbage that got blizzard into the precarious place they’re in now.

we do it still - but no new currency really hurt SL pet battles.
What? What do you mean?
the pet charms are the same as last expansion. as result, learning new pet battles is not needed, since the same currency can be obtained from the fights you already know. This heavily damaged SL pet battles.
Thanks I needed a great laugh today.
Oh no… were you serious?
Oh my god. This actually explains so much about current WoW.
I think the intent is probably for Soar to be a Drac’thyr exclusive “mini dragonriding” in zones outside of Dragon Isles until the end of Dragonflight, after which Dragon Riding be enabled in all zones.
Yea that’s probably the goal. But that’s too reasonable.
Kind of.
I mean you need them for the achievements, but after that yeah you don’t get any advantage from them over farming those BFA ones you still have memorized.
These kinds of threads really don’t help the cause OP. It just makes you look like a raving idiot.
