There is nothing to stop. If you are seeing “hot deals,” then you have clicked to allow something. It can be fixed or disabled. You have been given information.
If you wish to bury your head in the sand and allow ads to continue without fixing them, that is on you, not windows. No one I know, not even my mother who cannot use technology well, has ever seen ads on windows 10 or 11. So something was enabled somewhere. Find it or do not. But your problems are your own to fix.
I do not know either. But I do not allow windows to enable any tracking. Rahkeetahp could fix it if he wishes. He simply refuses and would rather be outraged. As usual.
lmao…wrong…Windows 10 COMES WITH this crap enabled guy…its been a stink since window 8…so what I dont believe is any joke from you about you knowing the first thing about windows or any other OS
We’re done here. you are /ignored
again…
ooooohhhh that explains it. but yeah, i mean someone building computers since the 90’s should know to go thru settings on initial setup and be disabling the dumb things. thats just the first thing i do, before even updating drivers.
Laughs in W11 22h2 enterprise
I have zero ads on my machine, save for when I go to Settings where it’s like, “WOW! Do you want to learn more about Win 11?!” Which I casually dismiss and go about my business.
There are settings, and resources, that have been provided to remove any ads Microsoft may or may not be sending your way. If it’s not Microsoft related, then you likely, accidentally or otherwise, downloaded a Potentially Unwanted Program, or PUP.
PUPs are notorious for affecting performance and bombarding you with spam and ads. They don’t do any actual damage but they are properly annoying. Windows Defender should be able to pick these up and remove them with a scan.
Otherwise you have an extension installed on your browser that does mostly the same thing. I’d check your extensions in your browser settings and see if something snuck on there. Easier than you think!
The ‘throwing a fit’ tactic you’re applying isn’t going to do much to help you…
Wow! This was another Tynne Tech Talk™, two in the same day! Bye!
Oh no the game doesn’t support a 13 year old OS. Whatever will we do.
How to Stop Windows 10 Pop-Up Ads
Disable those ads and get on with your life
Spend any time in Windows, and you’ll encounter a seemingly endless supply of unwanted pop-up ads. Pop-ups are a popular form of online advertising that isn’t particularly popular with most users. This article explains how to disable ads and stop pop-ups in Microsoft Edge and File Explorer, on your lock screen, in your notifications, and in the Stop/Start menu in Windows 10.

How to DISABLE those ads…not “you clicked ok without looking, duh” lmao.
Again…this has been a big topic of heated debate and hate directed at MS since Win 8 was new. Only someone who hasnt paid attention could have missed it lol.
and yet, you were the only one in here whining about the ads, that you could have gotten rid of years ago. talk about not paying attention…
didnt you block me? lol
nature of the beast. Keep somewhat up to date with software or get left behind.
one guy I know is tossing a fit cuz he has to replace his old cell phone because of the updates to the software/hardware from the service provider.
not knowing what youre talking about isnt going to help you either. see my previous post…
For reals.
Microsoft generally irons out their crap eventually with their operating systems; I don’t know why people get bent out of shape about updating (which is always free).
The only version of Windows where I continually thought “Man, this is crap” was Windows 8.
Using the OS itself to block tracking and ads. I literally can’t even.
Get a pihole and block stuff that way.
Hell even 8.1 was good. Way fewer failed updates and crashing from that than 7 for me at least.
I don’t doubt that Windows 8 was great for the Windows phone (which I was thiiiis close to buying, I heard people really liked it, not sure why it died - yeah, I know, app developers and whatnot), the interface sucked hard on anything that wasn’t a touchscreen.
And that right there explains your issue.
Yes. Which is what was initially said to you and yet you keep screaming about it.
I wasn’t too concerned with the appearance of it but rather performance. It had a bit faster startup, fewer install issues or failed patches.
Like even up to now w11 22h2 is good. And through the later versions of w10 I was seeing Microsoft own processes regularly having issues with writing/reading to its own stuff with the default protected folder/files setting in win security. That disappeared with w11.
8 definitely was a nuke dropped onto a once decent OS.
The only ones I liked were 98, XP pro and 7 was mostly ok.
The main problem I have with using anything third party is EXACTLY what someone claiming there are no ads in windows 10 was rambling on about…clicking OK to some software I dont know 100% certain isnt spying or downloading crap REGARDLESS of my checking boxes to say I dont want anything else being installed.
Just like with WoW, I prefer to keep it as clean as I can. We’ve all see that crap where something doesnt work right and gotten that “an addon has prevented blah blah blah”.
I prefer to keep windows clean so when I do need support, they aint pulling the same trash of blaming 3rd party installs when I know its their OS causing the problem
same. i decided that was my next phone, the Nokia Lumia? and then they discontinued it… atleast i didnt buy one and THEN it got discontinued. i really wish someone would make a good OS for phones… i would do GrapheneOS, but can only be used on Pixel phones now.
You are going to be using 3rd party to everything to solve stuff that will nonsensically not be resolved with the first (or the first party never thought to have an option for).
Unless you write your own code, you are going to be trapped with that situation.
Jesus yes. didnt it suck until like 8.1 ?
I waited until I stopped hearing the screaming online before we finally got 8 and I do believe it was 8.1 when we finally did.
I didnt have it long though. Still hated it. I held on to my XP pro as long as I could. Absolutely loved that and 98 and 7 to some extent.
