Dragon Flight requires Win 10+?

For anyone still running Windows 7 or 8, appears unless a programming change is made, Win 7 will not run DF. Not sure if that free upgrade still exists.

I get a DLL error. There’s a post in the beta forum about it. Im a new beta person, so I couldn’t respond

Remember that WoW is about to be owned by Microsoft (who creates Windows). They want you to update that software baby! :moneybag::moneybag::moneybag:

It was going to happen eventually, all programs will require windows 10 and windows 11 in 20 years.

Some people refuse to upgrade because of bad stuff they heard early on when W10 was new. The negative stigma of the buggy drivers and other things stuck with them despite it all being fixed.

lol!

If you’re running Win7 and using an internet connection … you have bigger problems than NOT being able to run Dragonflight.

But on the plus side, welcome to 2011!

I run Windows 95.

95 > 10, so it’s obviously better.

That was my first thought. Windows seven was like two computers ago for me. Microsoft stopped providing support for it two years ago so why should WOW worry about their game running on such an obsolete system? People need to get with the times.

There’s always a group of stragglers it seems… remember there being significant upset back when XP got dropped, long after most people had moved onto Vista, 7, or even 8.

For an actively maintained online game like WoW there’s a hard limit on how far back OS versions can be supported. It’s not like a single player game where the developer just tosses out an exe and forgets about it after a few patches, it has to work with new hardware and software and to make room for that older hardware and software must be dropped.

WOW also has an obsolete system, so they have that in common.

I never needed to upgrade. It worked exactly as needed. Ill upgrade out of necessity, but it fell under if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

I don’t think windows 7 will run most recent AAA releases - without a community patch at least.

I remember a buddy having to finally upgrade after buying elden ring and it not running on windows 7.

I remember having issues when Win 98 came out and they had to make a second edition to fix it. That taught me never to buy a new windows operating system at launch.

funnily enough you don’t buy windows anymore unless you’re buying a whole pc with it using windows.
