I’m capable of handling it.
You can get around it, similar to past times they try this nonsense.

The problem is that many people deliberately stuck with Windows 7 because 8 was a turd and Windows 10 was a PR disaster with Microsoft dictating update schedules to end users while firing their entire QA department only to push updates that could do things like trap their computer in a crash loop or completely break their VPN connection.
And this isn’t something like the leap from Windows 95 to Windows XP, Windows 7 is still perfectly functional and Windows 8 and 10 are still built off the guts of 7. At best upgrading from 7 to 10 has given me a security suite that thinks everything is a virus because it’s not from a mainstream publisher and a search tool which is admittedly a bit more useful. For the longest time that meant upgrading to 10 was a hard sell because there just wasn’t that much there for me until Microsoft more or less engineered a forced upgrade.
And once again Microsoft is being stupid with Windows 11 looking like some low rent apple OS. If I wanted my desktop to look like an Apple OS, I’d buy an Apple.
When you say something as completely ridicules as “It also REQUIRES A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT. THINK ABOUT THAT. that means you no longer own your own computer.” you’re the one trolling.
I think it’s so funny when people like you and Yelenya announce “I’m putting you on Ignore” as if anyone actually cares.
NO YOU WILL NOT. the upcoming builds in the fall will refuse to boot to os when you try all previous methods. they will check to make sure you’re online microsoft patched all the old methods out with the newest update when upgrading to windows 11 with a new pc. windows 11 pro will no longer let you get around this either. now its for enterprise accounts ONLY.
In played WoW in Windows 7. Then my laptop I played on forced me to get Windows 10.
That was ok. WoW played fine.
Then one day I fired up my laptop and found the display was black. It no longer functioned. Turns out the video syatem was fried.
So I bought a new desktop that came with Windows 11, 12gb ram and a 2TB SSD. This is the best computer I have played on.
We’ll see I guess, but for now, there’s a work around.
There’s a workaround for now. Not for long.
One of the reasons I asked for the info was so that *I* could do some research into this case scenario as well. As I do tech support, the more edge cases I learn about the better I can help others when they end up in that same situation.
Would you be willing to share your system details so I could take a deeper dive into this obnoxiously Apple-esque trap people are bound to fall into? That system info might actually tell me if you’re in one of those frustrating situations where your TPM isn’t in the normal place you’d expect it to be as I’ve found with my dentist’s systems when having to perform a swap to SSD from the built in HD.
My motherboard lacks the TPM chip and the firmware.
You can use google to find edge cases.
My internet has gone down and I’ve been on my computer without issue.
No it doesn’t. I don’t have one set up on my comp.
… I don’t think you understand what a Microsoft account is.
Who doesn’t back up their stuff on drives?
I’m like 99% sure if you computer can run WoW, it can (and should) run Windows 10.
Love it or hate it, it’s bounds better than 7 or 8, and XP is so outdated you shouldn’t be trying to run anything on it, security issues out the wazoo.
Though RIP XP, the best Windows.
Now if they were requiring Windows 11, that’d be another story. That requires a shockingly decently expensive computer to run.
Why still have Windows 7? You literally get 10 for free and it is a lot more stable.
MMMMM, older versions of Windows go out of maintenance service support and present some bad security issues because they’re not being updated anymore.
Windows 7 EOL was January 2020.
Windows 8 EOL will be January 2023.
do you NOT KNOW HOW TO READ? here is the article. https:// www.windowslatest. com /2022/06/28/windows-11-will-soon-force-you-to-make-a-microsoft-account-but-theres-a-bypass/
so NO YOU WILL NO LONGER HAVE THE OPTION TO SKIP IT ON NEW INSTALLS starting with the fall 22h2 update which just dropped yesterday. current installs will be grandfathered in and NOT require the account but future ones will. better hope you don’t ever have to reinstall your os.
how much do you want to bet microsoft is going to patch out that bypass?
as for hard drives…windows 11 automatically encrypts your hard drive…this is good until you realize that…and i quote
If you have BitLocker turned on for your device, it’s important to be sure you have the
Recovery Key backed up somewhere. If BitLocker thinks an unauthorized user is trying to access the drive it will lock the system and ask for the BitLocker recovery key. If you don’t have that key, you won’t be able to access the drive, and Microsoft support doesn’t have access to the recovery keys either so they can’t provide it to you, or create a new one, if it’s been lost.
but please continue not reading my posts so you can post more strawmans. everytime i have to ignore you i reminded of WHY i have you on ignore.
windows 11 is going to be essentially required in a couple years.between windows 11 shutting out budget computers from pre 2018 and nvidia raising their gpu prices by 33%-40% along with motherboards going up in price it seems we’re going back 25 years to the mid 90s when it cost 3000-5000$ to buy a decently good gaming rig.
From your own link URL my dude.
microsoft JUST entered into a advertising sharing partnership with netflix…DO YOU REALLY THINK they are going to not patch this out at some point? which is what THEY JUST FINISHED DOING WITH THE LAST WORKAROUNDS for the fall update that just dropped.
microsoft isn’t messing around anymore. if someone finds a workaround their not going to play nice anymore.
They’ve always had a bypass for things like this. They will always need one. As you’ve pointed out, not everyone has reliable internet.
There will always be a bypass.
Microsoft doesn’t just make OSes my guy.
Quite the contrary, they’re pretty tame and benign these days, compared to their anti-competitive practices of the 90s.
and microsoft is getting MUCH MORE aggressive with their patching of workarounds as proven by the fact THEY JUST PATCHED all the prior workarounds in the new fall update for new installs. they aren’t going to let mere consumers interefere with their revenue stream.
okay you’re just trolling at this point. i’m done with you. every single thread you post in you post extremely obtuse statements that are equivalent to NO DUH statements. i’m not gonna sit here and handhold you through VERY OBVIOUS CONCEPTS that your just posting to troll.
