You can still bypass the account setup today. I just did it 4 hours ago.
Also, if you’re not connected to the internet and if this is a genuine concern of yours, just use an old install on a USB.
I find it much harder to believe the “it’s going to happen because of this this and this.” Than it’s not going to happen because they’ve traditionally always had a bypass.
It’s not going to happen because no business is going to have their employees make Microsoft accounts. You’ll always have a way to run domain and local accounts.
yes and the update just dropped what yesterday/friday? it also grandfathers in current installs meaning current installs DON’T HAVE TO DO IT. brand new ones DO.
except the netflix deal states microsoft is going to start selling their data to netflix…now think why would that be unless they want to use the account requirements to collect ad data on what you browse and other stuff? they already have their telemetrics in the os now they want to profit on it.
i bet they arent revamping the graphics though. Not trying to say that we should still all be using XP but its kind of funny having these “need current gen stuff” changes for the game to still look as it did 18 years ago, or 2-3 OS generations
you might want to start caring because it more than just a coincidence that this happened at around the same time they announced the requirement. but if you want to remain ignorant of whats happening that’s your perogative.
Microsoft is getting into the Advertisement business to compete with Google by offering an advertisting platform. They signed a deal with Netflix to power their Free tier ad supported accounts with the new service.
Like I said… I don’t care. I’ve never subscribed to ads are bad thing. I enjoy the occassional ad. The Little Caesar one where they were skipping pizzas across the lake was genius.
And without ads and because of my blocker, I couldn’t tell you 99% of the movies that have come out in the last 10 years. So ocassionally I’ll turn it off to catch up.
I do hate that forced one for the OneDrive though.
So long as my adblocker isn’t bypassed… I don’t care.
i tried to warn you. don’t come crying when your locked out of your computer because the internet is out and your trying to install windows 12 but it won’t let you because it requires a online only microsoft account. i find the people who say “they don’t care” are usually the first to come crying about it when it DOES start affecting them.
