it isn’t a rule. It probably isn’t even feasible. It isn’t going to happen. I don’t think they are designed to do anything other than evoker
If what we seen is true, the dracthyr uses the worgen/rukmer arakkoa rig as a base, if so the work is already done and all they need to do is touch up on the animations.
If that’s the case it could possibly happen. I am not sure that is certain. Even if it is I would prepare to be disappointed. they clearly don’t want to
Then they cannot claim to fulfill the dragon fantasy until they do. A fire breather class does not alone fill that fantasy.
They do cool dragon stuff. They don’t have to do everything a dragon does. I think a small spritely flying dragon using magic fits the dragon Fantasy nicely
I would love more classes. They have wings, Demon hunter have wings, Possible next DH race!? Atleast after this expansion open up more classes please.
I’m going to break this down for you.
- Yes. Planning is for managers
- Managers have planned
- Managers determined that the ROI on investing in this isn’t worth it
- We’ve asked Managers to stop investing systems they have to keep untangling (making it our problem.)
- They did that here
- Win
No we have not, and your really stretching it by trying to make it our problem when it’s not.
Have you ever seen a Dragon tank a 5 man party or a 40 man raid? They all die. Dragons not tanking makes perfect sense.
If you can think three steps ahead, it’s our problem.
- Covenant Systems was overdesign
- We lose a patch while they tried to unfish themselves
- Shadowlands suffered because of this
- They’re not doing this in the next expansion thus far
Do you have a friend you could ask to explain this to you?
i agree 100% that they should be able to be warriors at the very least. Mages also make a lot of sense. maybe rogues?
I would love for the Dracthyr to have more classes.
Also lets have these options.
-
A settings toggle switch that allows Dracthyr to stay in humanoid form while in combat.
-
Wings that are also able to be used in humanoid form.
I wouldn’t be opposed to them having more classes, but I do think that what they have planned could work just fine. In theory. What Dracthyr are really lacking, at least for the moment, is character customization options. It’s still early, so they could and probably will add more. We just need to hope that they are actually decent.
It’s a dragon race, sure. It’s also only using powers from 4 out of the 5 dragonflights. The 5th, the black dragonflight, uses earth/fire magic and could easily be made to tank.
The argument of “Just play a different class” works with other races but not Dracthyr since they’re class locked.
You shouldn’t lock an entire section of your playerbase from playing the new race in the new expansion when it’s a box feature. It’s asinine.
It’s like saying “Blood elves can ONLY be mages and Draenei can ONLY be priests. You know, because Kael’thas and Velen! It’s thematic!! Tanks? Pfft, they can play human.”
It’s silly. lol
No, they don’t. It’s ok for classes and races to be unique have unique qualities.
The answer is no get over it
I’m sorry, but it’s not really okay for an entire playable race to have only one class option.
Dracthyr should be allowed to be warriors, hunters, rogues, priests, mages, druids and monks at least.
What a waste of some awesome character customizations, hairstyles, etc to be restricted to a class that MUST change form in combat (and have no very little armor transmog displayed).
You cant having breathing fire in human form think about it
It’s so disappointing that in a time where blizzard should be really letting customization go wild, they have instead introduced the most restrictive class/race we’ve ever seen.
Ion says in the reveal - “You can make this character the expression of your identity in Azeroth” which sounds great, but what if my identity is as a priest or a druid and not an Evoker? What if I want to play this awesome new race that we are getting but don’t want to be another one of the thousands of evoker players?
Lord help you if you want to tank. This game is already so limited in comparison to most other games when it coms to character customization and personal fantasy. This is the wrong direction to be taking this.
I’m not even personally that annoyed that only dracthyr can be evokers, but at the very least I think we should get to see visage form in combat for non evoker classes, and other races should be brought up to this level of customization.
