I’d go along with that as well as saying the visage should have included all racial options just like dragons have.
They say they want us to have the dragon fantasy as playable, but don’t give us all the options for it.
Not 100% true. At the start Blood elves could not be warriors that was added later.
I can not believe this thread is still going, it warms my heart.
Playing the DF story, there is no way they wouldn’t get more classes.
Like 90% of Dracthyr we meet are trying to be anything and everything other then an Evoker since that was a path they didn’t choose. Not to mention that only a slight number of them are said to master the various flight magics in order to become a true Evoker.
/shakes my wallet at blizzard
My alts demand this happens!
I mean seriously, imagine all the race changes they would sell lol
You do still like monneee riiight blizz?
I wonder if part of this is due to not wanting to unveil their plans.
As both Holinka and Ion heavily implied that the plan is for Dracrthyr to receive other classes in the future, as they discover the world, and blend into the Horde and Alliance more.
Granted, my personal take away for this, was 10.2.5, 10.3.5, or 11.0 with pre-order, for a time window.
As that would effectively be a reasonable enough window for Dracthyr to have learned a bit from the Horde/Alliance races in the way of other classes.
Which still fits into that interview, as it could easily be a 1.5 - 2 year window from now, which is not what most consider the near future.
This still makes less than no sense in a lore-wise sense though; Pandaren immediately taught every other race (Goblins and Worgen aside) how to be Monks from minute zero. The instant we got off the turtle, we showed everyone how to knock heads despite the art being uniquely Pandaren. We didn’t need to go deep into the expansion to unlock this access. Why would the Dracthyr be different?
I full heartedly agree.
The lore reason for Monks, is that the Goblin/Worgen intro sequence is a LENGTHY time, with Deathwing arising more toward the mid-point/end.
Pandaren themselves came off the turtle and began teaching Monk to the various races at least 6 months or so, before the start of MoP proper.
This is also why Lightforgded can’t be monks, as they were not present to learn the class until recently.
HOWEVER, why the heck Nightborne can be monks with that all in mind, is beyond me.
Still though, I feel like Monk, Priest, Warrior, and Rogue should be auto on the Dracthyr, considering they have a whole FACTION of them, that were Rogues. I mean, I know that was Emberthal’s faction…but STILL.
EDIT: I initially said Monk, but I meant mage
Btw, lorewise there are Dracthyr Rogues:
So that’s a start I guess.
Keep up the good fight!
I don’t even like Rogue per-se, but I would play the CRAP out of a Rouge Dragon.
I HAVE SOOOO MANY types of dragons in my head to RP as, and I just need to make them.
Weekly support for more classes for dracthyr
Imagine Blizzard trying to make its player base happy?! lol
This is not Final Fantasy silly
Hi blizz if you make dracthyr warrior possible i will give you THE DOLLARS so i can change my tauren warr to a dragon.
which will pain me because i love my tauren warrior to pieces but dragon warrior is just too good to pass up
I’ll just post what I said on an earlier thread about this.
I mean the 3 minute cooldown is fair for other racial interrupts in the same vein. Glide is NICE but it’s disabled in PvP matches, so there is not too much of an advantage.
In that aspect they’re about the same par wise as a Zandalari Troll with it’s racials honestly. Or even the Tauren, as you could argue with their knockback they are the superior Rogue, and with their increased HP they’re better for a lot of situations.
I wouldn’t be opposed to a Drakonid race as well, however, I feel like Dracthyr still deserve and will get at least the base classes of Mage, Warrior, Priest, and Rogue.
And I’ll repeat what I said in that thread:
Retool the racials to bring them more in line with other races, then expand class selection.
It would be such a win, and they’d make so much money with race changes.
Would be nice if they added it in a major patch or two. They have really nice customization. Sad it’s tied to just one class. I also don’t have a reason to make an alliance one. I am just sticking to my one horde dracthyr. Since it’s the same race.
The addition of new classes to Dracthyr can bring a variety of benefits for both players and developers. Here are some reasons why adding more classes to tje race might be a good idea:
- Increased replay value: New classes offer players the opportunity to experience the game in a different way, by playing the race with different abilities and gameplay mechanics. This can make the game more enjoyable for those who have played through the content multiple times and are looking for something new and fresh.
- More customization options: Adding new classes gives players more choices when creating their Dracthyr, allowing them to better tailor their playstyle to their personal preferences. This can also lead to more diverse and interesting group compositions in group content.
- Greater immersion in the game world: The introduction of new classes can add depth and complexity to dracthyr as a race, as each class has its own unique lore and place within the game’s narrative. This can make the game feel more immersive and help players feel more connected to their character and the world they inhabit.
- Improved balance: With more classes, developers have more options for balancing dracthyr’s racials and ensuring that all classes are viable and fun to play. This can lead to a more enjoyable and fair experience for all players.
- New sources of revenue: The addition of new classes to Dracthyr can also bring in new players who may have previously been hesitant to try the game, or bring back players who have left the game. This can be a significant source of revenue for the developers, allowing them to continue to support and improve the game.
Overall, the addition of new classes to Dracthyr could bring a host of benefits for both players and developers. While there may be some initial challenges in implementing and balancing the new classes, the long-term benefits are likely to outweigh any short-term issues.
Reminder that Dracthyr need more classes, thanks
I just want a black dragonflight themed tank spec and for dragon form to be able to use transmogs. Scrapping the current visage form to instead let them use full transmog would have been the better use of dev resources imo.
