It looks okay but Blizzard kind of throwing hard by not having other pieces. The giant shoulders are iconic, but so are the big gloves and boots and those are nowhere to be seen. Shoulder, belt, and tabard only isn’t enough.
Amen to that.
I’ve been suggesting a dragon-based class for years. This sort of thing appeals directly to me. But I do have to admit that I felt deflated to learn that they’re treating the race as a glorified Druid form.
I don’t want to be an Elf or Human.
I don’t care about two-tone hair.
I want to be a dragon.
They need to treat it with the same care as they’d treat any other race. As is? This is equivalent to telling someone who wants to play a furbolg to play a Bear Druid. Or telling people that want a draconic race to just buy the Vials of the Sands. It’s not the same thing, at all.
Stone armor to protect the sensitive spellcaster scales.
Even as a Shaman, I do want some effort to go into mail sets.
I would like to see effort put toward getting the 3D elements of armour applied, as well. If we can’t get the painted on still due to technical limitations, we should be able to get the modeled modern gear that would avoid being awkwardly painted over scales.
Whoops, hit edit instead of reply.
They should be able to give us a straight answer on Dracthyr and them wearing their own tier pieces, at the minimum, in the Drac form.
They kind of did? I don’t think it too interpretive to say that the above answer confirms that at least some of the set beyond belt and shoulders will show.
Sure but that’s so…restrictive on their own tier sets. Confirmation if it’s going to be like druids forms would be nice imo. Especially since that Tier set looks so cool
I think they’re just trying to avoid painting over all the scales and pointy bits. Things would get very ugly very quickly.
I’ll eat crow on this one.
Very disappointed that Evoker tier won’t be showing up on the very race that it was ostensibly designed for. Showing up on the visage is not a consolation. I’m going to be perpetually annoyed by this every moment that I’m logged onto my Dracthyr.
Yeah, I was really hoping that more than just the shoulders and… crotch piece would show on the Tier set at least
Like… That weird helm doesn’t even look good on the typical humanoid shapes of belf/human, why does it even exist?
But yeah… unless your vibe is “draconic and regal” or “borderline nudist,” you’re not going to have much wiggle room. And for the record, both of those have their merits. But in a year? Two? Ten? That limited nature is going to wear out its welcome very quickly.
Yep. Extra disappointing.
I still see ZERO actual reason why we couldn’t get gloves/bracers, chest, pants, and boots to show for armor on Dracthyr. Their bodies are basically worgen that stand upright. Make their claws poke through the gloves, turn the boots into leg warmers like they do for literally every other digitigrade race in the game, and let the optional spikes/crests just clip through armor as necessary, and boom. You’re golden.
And if it looks wonky? So be it. The players can hide it, find something else, or use a barbershop appearance. Blizzard loves to talk about player agency: this is the most basic form of that, yet it is denied.
I just love how particularly gloriously wrong the belt pieces look if you haven’t picked one of the belt options from the barbershop, it really does look like you’re hiding your genitals with a piece of cloth.
But they’re not allowed to look that badass in the beginning of an expansion. Need to wait for patch 10.2.
Jokes aside that does looks really good! Would be nice if you were about to unlock transmog armor for Drakthyr form, and change it in a simular manner to druids at the barber shop.
The whole point of Dracthyr is that they are dragons, they don’t wear armor. That’s why blizzard gave you 45,000 different ways to customize Dracthyr form.
You also have visage form for a reason, that’s usually when Dragon’s appear to mortals as people wearing armor.
and other such unreasonable arguments like those.
Then why do they wear armour?
