Dracthyr look ridiculously awful

Thank you. I feel like I’m taking crazy pill sometimes with that opinion. I brought this up alot before the xpac dropped and got banned from the wow subreddit for a bit. They’re just kinda jarring.

They look awful. And the NPCs try to sound cool and tough but they are cringe.

Should have used the big guard models. They actually look cool.

Evokers skipped leg day.

o look another dh who tf asked you guys your blind anyway yall cant even see so how you gunnna comment

Suk it bro

I don’t mind skinny scalies, but the head and neck look a bit off and the masculine voice is a bit too deep for me.

Overall I like them, they just need the basic four classes and MAYBE druid unlocked.

I 100% agree. The geometry for Drakthyr is bad. Their heads are 30% too small for their bodies, their flying animations when on a mount is hilariously bad, their inability to separately mog in visage and evoker form makes them look like clowns, the list goes on.

I was so happy when I tried devestation and found it to be a trash DPS spec, completely unfun to play. Happily parked my token evoker at sha for weekly mount farming but once I get the sha mount, I will be deleting it.

Such a stupid and cringy looking race.

This exact thread has been made multiple times. Stop speaking for others. You all do this.

Yeah, I think as a race it was pretty lazy. I am really curious how many dracthyr are running around, because I think its the least played new race yet.

Imagine if the Dragon model wasnt a lizard person but actually looked like a drake mount, and players could unlock colors, armor, ect.

That sounds so cool just thinking about it that I might actually play one if that were the case.

instead we get a race of lizard people. This is what new content is going to look like from now on though. Woke culture is uninspired and lazy.

Eh, I just don’t play my Dracthyr. I leveled one up to 60 and stopped playing that character.

Would rather had dragons/whelps tbh the dracthyr are almost male night elf comical.

Hey I don’t want to tell people what to like and not like, but I do agree the Dracthyr do look terrible to me lol

The Pandaren were eventually embraced because Blizzard did the leg-work and built the whole expansion around them. Their history, their culture, their personality. Pandaria is really fleshed out and you can’t help but like the pandaren by the end of it.

The same can not be said for the Dractyr. They just sort of showed up in Orgrimmar one day hat in hand, offering nothing. No reason to join. Just sort of bumming a ride to the dragon isles because Emberhorn shrugged and nodded at us.

I don’t know how it played out Alliance side, but what few Dracthyr NPCs we were given are…insufferable. They come off as arrogant blow-hards, bragging about their wings while contributing very little to the narrative all while calling me “mortal”. Oh, you can fly to the isles faster than the air ship? Then go! Bye-bye! You’re the one that asked to tag along to begin with!

We may be exploring them more as the story develops, but it’s already too late. The first impression is made, and the first patch has been wasted. Now it’s an up hill climb for the Dracthyr to win me over.

But that’s more work for them! omg you monster!

Why yes, yes I do like my Dracthyr, so much so I made a second one.

Is there something wrong with me for doing so? Possibly. On the bright side, at least I’m not an elf, such a cringe race they don’t even know how to hold a two-handed sword without looking like they were trying to play tug of war with themselves. Surprised Blizz gave the twigs the warrior class, I’ve seen gnomes that looked tougher even when they weren’t standing on the shoulders of another gnome.

Everyone’s got opinions of course, as is the nature of opinions. Eternity Surge is probably one of the nicest spell animations in the game currently when charging and firing it, galaxy wings anyone? And the Dracthyr wings aren’t even that original, they are just the updated Metamorphosis wings slapped on permanently. Soar also being pretty damn good for when you want to outrun someone who’s stuck on their baby-speed mount to get a massive headstart towards where-ever it was you’re going (like HoV/CoS) to the point where I still prefer it over normal flight because normal flying is so slow you can see the textures in the dirt when not flying at Soar or Dragonriding speed and landscapes like Pandaland haven’t aged that well in texture fidelity when running high view distance and detail.

I absolutely love my Dracthyr, but then again I was always that dork drawing dragons in the margins in school.

As a female, neither the lack of ROID MUSCLES nor big bouncy ‘indicators of feminine anatomy’ feel like an issue. Sounds like they just aren’t for you :dracthyr_shrug:

They’re supposed to be genetic super soldiers not emaciated prisoners of war.

If the first step is denial, does that mean you’re on your way to liking Dracthyr?
