From an actual animator’s point of view, you couldn’t be more wrong. There’s a deeper issue here that is causing you to take out your rage on this race. Why not talk about that instead of, well whatever the hell you’re talking about which is quite honestly a bunch of a nonsense.
Theres some problems with the race, however. It was lazily made. IE, unfinished. Missing animations in either form. It’s got bugs out the wazoo. And a new one is added every update patch and hotfix I swear. It seems to be a failed experiment, marketing this race as a flying race. More of a gliding race with crappy wings. And actually marketing it with dumb things like “omg our analytics say that players spend an average of 4 hours creating their dracthyr!” is also stupid af. Who TF spends four hours on their dracthyr. It’s not that deep. It’s got the most options of any race yes, but wow doesn’t have a face Morpher tool lol. Load of crap that. And for that matter, why TF do we humanoid dragons not have any hair options but regular 4 legged ANIMAL BODY dragons do? Even our damn dragon mounts do? C’mon. Get real. That’s bad. Then, the no transmog options hurts bad. And if it’s gonna be this way, then ok. Don’t need all mog options I guess. But more options would be nice. Or at least finished animations in visage form and more combat functionality for it too for goodness sake. The class talents are bad. Needs help. Too many things that should be baseline costing precious points. Builds are always stretched too thin.
But you’re absolutely 100% wrong about the animations that do exist, the ones they ACTUALLY bothered to add in. Those, for what its worth, are quite good considering half the game is still a low poly dog pile of camel crap. The models are pretty good. I mean it’s a dragon. They look like dragons. You might as well say you just don’t like dragons bruh. Hey that’s cool. Not everyone has to like a dragon. It’s cool. And yeah, they’re pretty gay. Is that your problem? Quit whining you voker phobic and leave the forums.
Now on to more important matters, like squashing bugs for this race and adding in playable gnolls.
Super edgy flex to tell me whether I like something as if I don’t have the capacity to decide. Sounds tough and no nonsense while being impossible to prove or disprove. Andrew Tate would fist bump for sure.

The gecko form looks really, really bad in pretty much all aspects from their anatomy/proportions (especially the head) to their awful run animations (like they have a pole stick up their…). They look like someone took an anole lizard, made them stand upright and then glued rubber wings to their backs and forced them to walk on two legs. Plus, you know, all the other assorted complaint from this thread.
99% of the visage options are also awful from the duck-face on all the females to the terrible multicolored scales that look like prosthetics from a $500k budget Syfy channel horror movie from the 90’s. The female visages have one good face that everyone takes. Now, that said. They do have some pretty great hair options which I would love to see on other races.
It took me a couple hours to get a customization I could tolerate (I still hate the gecko form) and leveled one to 70, but it’s been sitting unplayed since then.
So true, let me avoid the derp-zard completely with permanent visage and I would probably give healer another shot. Until then, it’s a tradeskill mule.

I agree. Male Blood Elves have the most horrid bodies and animations.

I don’t think dracthyr are horrible but there can be some improvements. I have no problem with how they play but how they look?
They need a bigger head option and also bigger jaw options like in this art.
Also, their visage forms look creepy. Both the male and female faces look off and I’m not sure why. I can’t even look at the female visage form because of how gross they are. Ideally, these would have been all our regular races with some extra customizations like dragon horns, eyes, whatever.
My final complaint is the idle combat animation while in visage form. Why does it look like they’re ready to punch if they’re not even melee? Lol.

THIS needs to be an option when creating your Dracthyr. I refuse to play a Dracthyr because they look like anorexic starving lizards. This design would convince me to play them as they actually look like an intimidating human/dragon hybrid. Blizzard look at this image and give us some options.

My Dracthyr has actually grown on me. I enjoy playing Devastation.
Shut the hell up, you don’t like don’t play it if others do let them have own opinion.
Skirt around your own issues maybe then.
Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean others do.
Like for example… I feel that way about well…Demon Hunters. Does that mean I’m going to assume saying that out loud that others feel the same? No it doesn’t, just like your issue with Dracs.

This was it for me too. I love the way they are shaped more in an athletic way than the huge muscles and too wide shoulders we normally see. Their muscle tone and hip to shoulder ratio is perfect for what I like to play. I have always loved reptilian and dragon type races too.
I see so many people calling for something more like the Drakonid, but I am on the other side from that. I find the Drakonid far to big and bulky.

Which is why they should have added both. This franchise was founded on “big and bulky.” Those who feel cheated by having that expectation subverted can’t be blamed for their reaction to Dracthyr.
If Drakonid were announced alongside Dracthyr, I think the general reception would have been very different.

I agree with OPs opinions on Dracthyr, but I think its silly to think that no one else can like them either.
I also hate gnomes and goblins as they are just gag joke races, but plenty of other people obviously like them and I don’t really care that they exist.
