They look like bad furry art, some of their abilities are cool but… meeeeh.
Sorry, but you don’t get to decide what I like or don’t like. Only I have that power. And I think my Dracthyr looks amazing! I customized him to be a Infinite Dragonflight themed Dracthyr both in draconic and visage form:
I’m sorry that you don’t like Dracthyr, but everyone has different tastes. Sometimes people are going to like things you don’t and that’s ok. You can throw all the forum temper tantrums you like, but it won’t change the fact that there are players like myself who genuinely like Dracthyr.
OK, now that’s funny. Best laugh in the thread.
oooh that is a really well done aesthetic!
Is that body type 1 or 2?
Wasn’t it a 4chan furry artist? Now don’t get me wrong, if you are into furries by all means my friends enjoy, but one of the biggest off putting things about DF for me is how out of place and un wow like the art style feels. Before people come at me again with the rat meme, STYLE is NOT the same as graphic QUALITY. The art style I am just not into, the new proto drakes have beaks and big goofy teeth that drive me bonkers. I had a complaint about Alexstrasza too, her model looks great but feels lacking, she is missing some key details that just gave her some more character. Sometimes old graphics have more character.
I’d also like to point out that older games have made reptilian and amphibian races, with their own unique non-mammalian sexual dimorphisim.
EverQuest, ye olde’ game of yore. Ask your granpa about it. They had the Iksar. Lady Iksar and Gentlemen iksar looked largely the same. The ladies had colorful facial scale patterns and unique head crests. Because that’s how the reptiles do.
Later they added the Froglok. You’d be excused if you couldn’t tell a boy froggo from a girl froggo, they actually had subtly different color pallets and patterns. Males being a bit more vibrant, females a little pastel. Once you know what to look for, you can spot them. It’s neat. It also wasn’t unusual to see your froglok party member use an illusion item that change their race and be like “You a girl??”
Later in EverQuest II they added the sarnak as a playable race (Half dragon super soldier test-tube babies. What a unique idea!) Female Sarnak were --huge–. A size again taller than their smaller, more colorful male counter-parts.
All of this interesting stuff without the crutch of “Don’t worry gais they totally transform into a hot elf!”.
I would have to agree. I make sure Im in human form every chance I can. Ugly as hell. Little snakes with arms and a pair of wings. Big powerful dragons but can only fly in the dragon isles. Everytime I have to leave the dragon isles it takes away from the immersion reminding me the game is just one big chore.
5 alts in and the game is just bleh to me anyway. Already playing new things until they make the game playable with uncapped valor and something to do (that I enjoy).
You’re going on about a game released in 1999 and comparing it to wow’s current implementation I’d have to argue EverQuest did it better. He isn’t saying remove it. They look horrible lmao it’s like if I had my 6 year old draw up a dragon and sent it to blizzard and they were like hell yeah throw it in.
Dracthyr models needed way more time in the development oven. I just cycle between atomic recalibrator, blubbery muffin and savory deviate delights for a more palatable combat form. Shame the recalibrator is on a 12 hour cooldown though.
Cata dragon aspect models had more detail to them, its kinda silly how cartoony and backwards they are now.
Objectively incorrect.
Yes, and unfortunately now they need to be thrown into the incinerator.
u wanna say the dragon is bad , i think there goodjob do u wanna be a megative all the tim OK is u life if u wanna do it OK but i think u can do it as a diferant char . look on my char is goodjob for refaranse . ur char look as a ken doll wanna get revegne , on a tomato .
Don’t complain they could easily make it worse. It’s happened before with forms.
yeah…theyre a little thinner than Id like.
really nice looking dragon folk NPC models in DF, I dont understand why they didnt offer different body builds.
Especially when they’re dancing on the rim of the Community Feast pot.
Yours do look good. Still, the small head on the lizard form is very obvious.
