Dracthyr are ugly

see that is disappointing to me. its just another worgen race. we cant keep the humanoid look (even though its super detailed and cool looking on its own) while in combat and just shapeshift into these weird looking dragon things.

the difference is that they don’t have to do that much more work, its as simple as a toggle and a DH metamorphosis eyebeam style animation to play the animations the human form can’t do. It’s not really a huge ask

Neck needs to be shorter on those scalies.

The problem with Dracthyr is their “dragon” form really isn’t shaped like a dragon. It’s basic body shape appears to be a human with dragon characteristics.

Basically it resembles a Draconian from Dragonlance, rather than a full-on dragon.

I wish Blizzard would change the base body shape and posture of Dracthyr. Maybe make it walk on all fours, or at least be much more hunched over with less of a human-shaped body (like a T-Rex in posture).

I’d argue the legs as well. They look like they’re on stilts and can barely walk.

I’m probably in the minority here, but I’m of the opinion that they shouldn’t even have a non-dragon form. But this isn’t exactly a feature they can go back on so too late for that.

I personally like the Dracthyr, but I am concerned that they are re-using Nathrezim/DH-Shapeshift rigging and animation when they really really should have their own unique skeleton.

I am hoping that they just slapped the worgen rig on it so they can get the reveal cinematic out of the door and are working on a unique rig for them down the line.

I mean, I will prolly never use the non dragon form, but I guess I’m glad it’s there for the people who want it. I absolutely love them though. I both the Elvish dragon form, and the actual Dragonkin form. It’s like Blizzard reached into my head and designed a race for me. I can’t wait to customise and run around as my new scaly main.

Thats awesome! I’m glad you are hyped!

I think for the sake of the whole community, more choice should be added through a simple combat toggle, since its an entire class being gated, I would never say the dragon form shouldn’t exist, that said, it’s certainly not for everyone, and more choice, especially when its such a simple thing never hurt anyone.

Perhaps an inscription glyph may make it possible. Sort of like the Glyph of Stars for Boomkins.

The dragon form just looks really unfinished and very lanky, really needs some bulk, or at least a body option.

That would give us Sauroks. And those aren’t dragons and Blizz wants us to have dragons.

I’d of preferred Sauroks.

That way I could play as a Warrior one.

It’s the head size. It’s too small for “dragon.” It reads “lizard” instead of “dragon.”

The model is so ba- I mean, not what I expect from a player character model in WoW, that when there was a screenshot from the presentation posted on MMO-Champion I thought it was just a pre-made asset from the Unreal store or something that someone just touched up a bit and slapped into the character creation screen. It reminds me of furry adult content, and not even vulpera ever gave me that vibe.

as opposed to all the other highly glamourous races in the game.

I don’t mind their look, except they need to be bigger and tougher looking, like Revendreth gargoyles. I think I’m saying this in too many threads, lol. I like the dragon look a lot better than the human forms though, those just look weird to me… /shrug

I’d prefer the dragon form had a skeleton that was more like a dragon and less like a human. It would look better if it walked on 4 legs, or was at least hunched over like a T-rex.

Even as-is, I still plan to play one as my main no matter what they do with it. I love dragons and what they’ve shown of Dracthyr is close enough.

Yeah, ideally I would have preferred that a Dragon be their actual form, and the Dragonkin model be what they used in combat and around the world for gameplay reasons, but I will still take it.

That’s what Istaria did with their Dragon race though. You were a Dragon, but had a bipedal form you could switch into so you could get around smaller spaces and human sized buildings.

Which is a good thing. They’re not humans so they shouldn’t look cute or some kind of Victoria secret model. They should look mean, viscous, and some kind of scary creature. You know, ugly!
