I mean, cancel culture is gonna be coming for voice actors for VAing villains soon probably as well. If you are playing a character that is considered immoral or evil, you’ll get canceled.
I mean they already got Dukes of Hazard removed from amazon 
I’m genuinly scared what type of threats they would of received had this been a more modern show.

Which is pretty funny because I’m sure we developed a lot of weird …interests lets go with that, thanks to villains in cartoons and games.

Anyways I wish we could just agree to leave older shows and songs alone. They are part of our history the good and the bad. It’s what made us what we are and all of them have memories attached.

i’ll give you an example of what i mean. one night i was in a restaurant with family. a lady came in who was muttering to herself, unkempt and loud. she sat in the next booth and tried to order food. the waiteress said no, because she knew the lady was homeless and had no money and that her boss said to not take the order and to instead, call the police.
my hubby told the waitress to go ahead and take the order and he would pay for it. they delivered her meal. as she was eating the police came in to arrest her but waited tilll she was done eating. during this time, i sat down with them to find out how i or they could help her out.
they told me the following:
theres nothing you can do. theres no free mental hospitals because they were shut down due to abuse/neglect of their patients. all the police can do is get her off the street for a night, a bed, shower and breakfast, then we have to put her back on the street.
i called the local hospital and asked. same answer. only worse. if you dont have a home address, they have nowhere to send the bill, so they cant hospitalize you for long term care beyond the scope of an emergency room visit where you’d have to be unconscious, so they dont know you dont have a home.
it was very sad. i inquired about her again, a few months later and learned she had died from exposure.

For people who say this toxic behaviour should stop, it won’t. That’s like saying to thieves don’t steal, it’s bad…
Social media platforms are built on the ‘claim’ of giving you human interaction. What they give instead is the illusion of that without the consequences of the actual thing. In real life, someone threatens you like that you’d call the cops.
So, why would I want to give anyone ammunition to come at me while hiding behind a PC or a phone?
Bottom line: Don’t be on social media.

I refuse to fall into that nihilistic “nothing matters” mentality. Sorry.
I think that is just a form of confirmation bias really. And naturally how bad it is for people who are poor varies from region to region. But back to the bias thing. People automatically have this certain view of people rather they like it or not. And anything that contributes to that view is vastly more noticeable then something that doesn’t contribute to it. There is likely just as many story’s of scenario as close as possible to yours involving people who are better off financially but unable to get the help they need. And end up having something awful happen to them. Yet we don’t use these examples as a checkmark against that social class because it isn’t conforming to our already accepted ideals of how things are.

oh it isnt a checkmark against them. mental illness is not on purpose. thats what i keep trying to say. people assume someone issuing murder threats, is just an angry person with a jerky attitude, when in fact, it sounds like some form of psychosis.

I’m just glad cancel culture hasn’t reached blizzard that much. The only thing blizzard could really be “canceled” for is hong kong and I really can’t blame blizz for backing down on that for china. I mean, they legit passed an act that puts people protesting in prison for life. But other than that there is some streamer stuff and that’s about it. Which is great.
Actually, the mentally ill under a specific income are eligible for medicaid which is federally insured. Contrary to your statement, the mental hospitals have not all shut down due to abuse and neglect. It’s far more difficult to have people committed however, due to changes in the laws regarding involuntary commitment. The difficulty lies in advocacy and legal guardianship for the mentally ill who do not have relatives to advocate for them. In any case, your tableau isn’t particularly germane to the subject.

Psychosis or not, they need to be taken away from the general public. There is a unlimited number of emotional, and mental disorders which lead to any varying number of actions. Some more grotesque then others including act with children or leading all the way up to serial murderers or other such things. We can’t just give one group of illness a pass for the behaviors and then with the same breath condemn the other. If a person lacks control, they lack control. But if we deem one person is still responsible for their actions even though they lack control… Isn’t it a bit a double standard if we don’t then treat everyone else who lacks control but does a dubious action in the same manner and hold them accountable for their actions?
Things like this make me believe that everyone’s irl identity needs to be displayed for accountability.
