Don't get screwed by account merger and consolidation

Public forum, I can post wherever in and response to whomever I want.

They would have told you explicitly what happens when it is done. That you don’t understand is your fault, really. Any ounce of research even would have told you exactly what we are telling you.

But that’s not something that they’re able to do. You might have thought that was what was happening, but it wasn’t. They were moving your WoW account from one battle.net to another. That’s it. They don’t offer a “merge” option to make two battle.net accounts into one.

There’s actually no risk. What there is however, is a misunderstanding of the service they offer and the restrictions that come with it.

I don’t doubt for a moment that you told them what you wanted to accomplish, so I’m not arguing that at all. Just telling you that it’s not possible. As such they should have explained what they are able to do along with the restrictions that come with it.

Regardless of which account got merged to which…shouldn’t all the collections be turned into one? That’s insanely stupid that one whole account of collections would just be deleted after the merge, there would literally be no point to merging them?

I’d re-open a ticket or call them, this is beyond ridiculous.

When you log into battle.net you create an account. In that account you have a world of warcraft license, or maybe licenses to some of their other games like Diablo, Starcraft or Heathstone.

Under your battle.net account you’re allowed to have up to eight World of Warcraft licenses. Each of those licenses requires a monthly subscription fee.

Does that help?

People get confused because they use account for licenses… That is inaccurate.

What the hell? It says items in collections, mounts, pets, toys, wardrobe items, and heirlooms won’t move. Why? That’s so stupid.

Nope. It’s very much intentional. I imagine they do it for a few reasons. One would be to make it more difficult for people trying to sell their accounts with rare items/mounts/etc.

Another would be in the event of an adult legally sharing an account with their child. If they decided to move one of the WoW accounts off to the kid’s new battle.net (something Blizz can help with), who gets to keep the items and mounts? Is it fair to duplicate everything for that account? Personally, I don’t think it is.

Wow, no restore even though you have the achievement? Back in either Cata or MoP, I was able to restore my missing argent dawn tabard because I had the achievement

Huh… I merged my bnet accounts and everything remained… weird.

Don’t waste your time, the OP clearly isn’t interested in understanding what happened or why it happened. I wouldn’t be surprised if they said something like “here’s some basic terms and conditions regarding account consolidation” and the OP just skipped that part and agreed similar to what most people (myself included) do when they see a bunch of fine print on a document they need to sign.

I agree with this.

OP, your best action now would be to call them, explain in detail what it was you were wanting to have happen and see what they can do and if you can now get your stuff back or, if not, what you can do to get it back.

This whole “merge” stuff is confusing. I think the wrong words are being used here but Idk.

You’re not duplicating anything on the account. If you both have the same mount, the account obviously retains the mount. If one account has one the other doesn’t, the new merged account shout retain the mount.

But there’s the thing. When you learn a mount now, it’s learned to your battle.net account (with only a few class-specific exceptions). So they’re not on your WoW account, they’re on your battle.net.

For example, if you make a new account right now (under the same battle.net) and start an allied race on it, you’ll have access to all of the mounts, transmogs, pets, toys etc. on that new account.

So when someone actively plays on multiple WoW accounts and then decides to move them to a brand new (or just newer) battle.net, then the mounts/pets/etc. stay behind. Otherwise, it would be duplicating them as they’d exist on both battle.net accounts.

Fact is they LOST THREE petty little goat mounts off my main account that the other was moved TO.
Lets stop making up crap excuses for the incompetence.

Exactly.
The stuff I could tell they lost was from my MAIN Bnet account the other was being moved to.
Three goat mounts on that account…LOST. There is no reason for those to be lost and not EVERY OTHER mount that had a rep grind attached to it.

Really gets old hearing lame rumped excuses by the knights when we KNOW Blizzard has screwed something up.

So you traded your account based mounts, titles and mogs for heirlooms? Sounds like you made a bad deal.

Blizzard did the right thing. It wouldn’t be fair if people played new accounts and then merged that account with an old one just to use account-wide titles or items or features that may have been xpac-specific or are no longer in game.

And, as I may have mentioned before, they literally moved one of my characters that was on my one account over to the second one during the move.
I know where my characters were at prior to the move. …which characters they were grouped with.
After the move my one monk character wasnt on the WoW account he was on before the move…he was on the other.

Sorry but there is NO crap excuse can be made for that incompetence.
The character is useless to me now unless I pay for a transfer/

You should care. The words you use directly affect how well you are able to make yourself understood. There is a very real, very significant difference between a Battle.net account and a WoW license.

Poor planning and a lack of research on your part does not constitute a ‘screw-up’ on Blizzard’s part.

The information was there, and has been for years. When you transfer a WoW license from one Battle.net account to another, all Battle.net-bound items will remain on the original Battle.net account. They do not transfer.

World of Warcraft

Each Blizzard account supports up to eight World of Warcraft accounts. We can move a World of Warcraft game account to another Blizzard account if all accounts are registered to the same account holder. These moves are not reversible, and some accounts are not eligible.

Each World of Warcraft account contains its own characters and requires a separate paid subscription. Aside from the character transfer service, which can move characters between accounts, there is no way to merge progress from multiple accounts.

If the World of Warcraft account region does not match the Blizzard account region, World of Warcraft tokens will not be available from the shop. Tokens purchased from the Auction House can only be redeemed for game time.

Keep making up your lame excuses that have NO bearing on the actual FACTS of the matter.

I understand how it works with multiple WoW accounts under one Blizzard account. What I’m saying is, for a merge, they should be taken off the old Blizzard account and put on the new one. That’s literally what a merge would be for. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Damnn, this is like unheard of before. I’m sure somebody in this thread will direct you into getting it back - GL
