Don't forget Allied Races in 9.1

I think the point Midare was trying to convey is that the Allied Races that actually need improvements and customizations like Nightborne, Lightforged Draenei, Dark Iron Dwarves and Highmountain Tauren haven’t gotten anything new really and they are who actually need it, not Void Elves.

I won’t argue that other allied races need attention first. I agree that they do. But that doesn’t mean Void Elves shouldn’t get anything ever again, nor does it mean players interested in Void Elf customization can’t or shouldn’t ask for the options they want.

I have never said Void Elves don’t, I have said Void Elves last in my opinion because they skipped in line during Core Race customizations.

And before someone cites my post last night I only said that because I get annoyed with the whole Alleria tattoos because that’s not what they are even called.

Well I agree with you that the other allied races should get their pass before Void Elves. In fact, I think some core races need more options added before Void Elves get their pass.

I also agree that those tattoos would more accurately be termed “Farstrider Tattoos” if I am not mistaken, and if ever made available, should probably be options for both Blood and Void Elves with color options differing for each.

Customizations take away from other parts. I’d like them to try to work on bringing in properly fun content, for the extra zone or two later, instanced content, torghast or whatever.

I agree with this 100% because I still feel some Core Races got shafted and that wasn’t cool but that still doesn’t mean I am on team Void Elves shouldn’t ever get anything either.

Also yeah, that’s exactly what they are called and I take better to people calling them what they actually are vs what they want them to be called to try and justify getting them.

They really don’t. Customization is handled by the art department. Content creation is not.

I’m glad we agree

Me too, I need to keep my supposed mean reputation though so I can’t be seen being too nice. (Thanks again however for the nice comments earlier though even before we chatted in this thread.) :yum: :yum: :yum:

I was happy to. Even if we don’t agree on specific points here and there, our discussions are almost always civil, even pleasant. And we do share common ground on a number of things regarding customization, so it’d be difficult for me not to be on your side in many cases.

I appreciate that, I will never know how people just auto assume I’m mean like mean but it is what it is and I don’t let it get to me. After all I will never agree 100% with anyone, actually I don’t think anyone will because we are all different people so.

I fully expect them to table AR customizations for a period when they need to generate more cash services revenue for paid races changes. Followed by another pass to the core races to get people to race change back again.

um, what? people were begging for playable nightborne when we first saw them in legion, and at the end they were given to the horde

I think some people (myself included) sometimes take disagreement on an issue as a personal attack. I’m as flawed as any other human being, but I try not to let my emotions get the better of me. I don’t always succeed however, as my posting history can attest.

The Nightborne people wanted and the Nightborne we actually have that are playable are polar opposites.

Totally understandable, there have been times not really recently but previously where I wasn’t the nicest person but I learned from them and I’m a lot better about chatting now even when I disagree.

I think that’s a bit too “tin-foil-hat” for me to believe. That’s not to say I don’t expect Blizz to start really taking advantage of the in-game shop with transmog cosmetics. I’m only shocked it took them this long.

I think the thing that threw them off was the sub-par reception of the transmog hats from years ago. But hats are often hidden by players, and unlike a single hat, a full ensemble of individual pieces one can mix and match with, is far more versatile and more worthy of purchase imo.

I would defintley like to see the other allied races get some customization, “for me I would like to see Lightforge Draeneis at least get enough choices that help them stand out differently from regular draeneis”, but I also believe void elves should be included I mean the only thing they did is give them regular skin tones and new eye colors, they don’t have ear lengths, new hair styles, or hair colors, tattoos wouldn’t be too far off either. I also wouldn’t let christie golden’s Tweet determine what a race can and can’t have I mean all she did is tweeted she accidently added a tail to Genn Greymane and forgot the Worgen’s ingame didn’t have them, I wouldn’t let that get in the way.

You forgot tail customizations as well. I don’t care for the gem on the tail, and different colors too.

While I would prefer more unique options for every allied race, I suspect that Blizzard will have allied races inherit options from their parent races wherever they think they can get away with it. At best I think we might see allied races get variants of existing parent race assets, or possibly ports of options from other races where possible, if only to preserve distinction.
