Don't forget Allied Races in 9.1

You got Nightborne in return, who resemble Night elves to an extent. I know their models do not look that good at the moment, but I am sure an update is due for them, and they will be given priority when Blizzard comes round to Allied Races.

I cannot speak for everyone, but I can speak for many. We do not wish to have your Silvermoon. We do not wish to look identical to Blood elves. It’s just that our hairstyles are limited atm, especially the hair colors. We do not want the same hairstyles and hair colors as Blood elves. We want some light hair colors, yes, but that can include Void inspiration. Like a Void Blonde. That could include x2 thick navy blue hightlights with stars on them like the Starcursed Voidseeker’s wings. Or the bottom half of the blonde being shiny navy blue to show the void corruption.

I understand you are sour that we got our own version of ‘’ Blood elves ‘’ but on the other hand you also need to understand that something like this was requested for a good 14 years.

I don’t care if it was requested for 55 years it still shouldn’t have happened. I don’t have to understand anything.

Also, the Horde never asked for Nightborne, but the devs likely saw the storm brewing when they gave the Alliance Blood Elf models, so they gave us a half baked concept in exchange. It was almost insulting, and the Alliance STILL COMPLAINED ABOUT IT. They got what they wanted but still got upset about what the Horde got. It never ends.

I will always campaign against the Void Elves getting more options that take away from the Blood Elf aesthetic. Get yourself some unique stuff, fine, but you don’t need more options. You have plenty.

Ok. I guess there is no point in trying to reason or negotiate whatsoever with you. Just shows that Blood elves are the sole reason the Horde still stands, and they cling to it like vultures. Blizzard did some very, very big damage to the Alliance with letting Horde enjoy Blood elves for so many years. So many people switched to Horde to play Blood elves because they wanted to play the ‘‘model’’ race. Now those same people fight tooth and nail so that the Alliance cannot have similar, because they had to sell their souls to the Horde to play a Blood elf.

I’ve said this elsewhere but:

While I think it’s probably too much to hope for, I’d be happy if, when Void Elves get their customization pass, all the Alliance High Elf NPC’s get updated to use whatever “High Elf” assets Void Elves currently have, and potentially end up getting in this pass.

Void Elves have a few normalish/non-tentacled hairstyles right now, and may get a few more in their pass. Assuming they also get a few traditional hair colors as well, there’d really be no reason for the Alliance High Elf NPC’s to keep using Blood Elf assets. Even moreso if Void Elves get a tentacle toggle for their hairstyles since that would make a few more useable by Alliance High Elf NPC’s.

I get that they are the same race as Blood Elves, just divided politically/ideologically, but since they are living in the Alliance society, it would make complete sense for many of them to adopt cultural trends such as hairstyles from the society they’ve assimilated into.

In this way we’d see some uniformity between the Alliance Thalassians, and the Alliance High Elf NPC’s would be differentiated a bit more than they currently are from their Blood Elf counterparts. Doing this would also foster more of a connection between the playable Void Elves and the NPC Alliance High Elves IMO.

Also, for anyone saying “Void Elves shouldn’t get anything/they have enough” just keep in mind that most other races have more options than Void Elves do right now, and Void Elves were not the only allied race to get skin tones. I get the anger hard on some people have against Void Elves, but it’s both childish and unrealistic to say they shouldn’t get anything.

All allied races will eventually get new options. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just not being realistic.

Will Void Elves get a bit less since they already got skin tones? Most likely yes.

Does getting those skin tones mean they shouldn’t get anything else? No, that’s just silly.

Should Void Elves get more stuff from Blood Elves? In my opinion No, but if sharing assets is an inevitability, I would prefer that the devs decide to give Void Elves assets from other Alliance races and not Blood Elves. And if even that is too much ask, then the devs should rightly share as many Void Elf assets as possible with Blood Elves (hairstyles, hair colors, facial hair, jewelry, etc).

The model is very bad. I don’t understand why void elves have the same model as blood elves. But nightborne model, standing is awkward and weird they have 1 leg out. Not standing fully on their 2 feet. Have very little customization. Need more hairstyles and skin colors.

And yet again another post asking for reasonable things for allied races OTHER than the one that just got a ton of new skin and eye color options is taken over by the High Elf obsessed. Seriously its the WoW forum equivalent of taking all the oxygen out of the room.

To be fair… Void Elves were not the only allied race to be given new eye colors and skin tones.

Also… the topic was not “taken over by the High Elf obsessed” unless you’re including posters who also fervently oppose Alliance High Elves too.

The very first reply to the original post in regards to the mere mention of Void Elf options was:

Void Elves need literally nothing. They got almost every option Blood Elves got. Let Blizzard design for the other races.

then we started seeing posts such as:

Void elves should have never gotten human skin tones

Hear, hear! Enough is enough. I hope they literally get nothing.

You even added to the discussion with:

Void Elves need nothing.

and

I’m good for literally ALL allied races except VE to get some love.

If the negative posts against Void Elves hadn’t lit the fire, this topic would be a perfectly fine dumpster to mention any and all allied race wants. So I suggest you consider your own biases before calling out others for their “obsessions”.

My bias is that your section of the community takes up a ton of space with very little self awareness. I’m aware of it and many people agree. This is a topic where people are talking about OTHER allied races. Comparing what they’ve received to the Allied race that has received the MOST in customization options. Even compared to some core races before SL.

You lot are just not self aware sadly and its why no one but High Elf fanboys seem to have the patience for you on the forums anymore. People play other races and I stand by what I wrote – after receiving so much already while other allied races have received nothing, Void Elves shouldn’t get any more attention until other allied races are caught up.

No it is not. It’s a topic that is talking about Allied Races in general. And as much as you might dislike it, that includes Void Elves too.

The original poster mentioned several allied races, including Void Elves. If people want to discuss their wants for allied races, that includes Void Elves too.

The only options Void Elves got were eyes and skin tones. Know what other allied races got new options in Shadowlands?

  • Mag’har Orcs have received new eye colors including bright orange, earrings, piercings, and necklaces resembling the new Orc options, and tusk customization.

  • Vulpera have received new eye colors including blind options and the ability to customize their fur texture separately.

  • Nightborne received a new Plated earring option.

  • Zandalari accessories split out into different categories like piercings, ear gauge, and necklace so you can have multiple pieces of jewelry visible at once.

  • Highmountain Tauren tattoos are split into paint and tattoo style, and they also receive a new earring option.

  • Mechagnome skin color and paint job were split out. Mechagnomes also received the same new skin tones as Gnomes.

  • Lightforged Draenei tendrils are customized separately from their face.

And what did Void Elves get that you think is “so much” in comparison?

  • Void Elves have received new eye colors and all the same skin tones as Blood Elves, so they can resemble High Elves now.

Did Void Elves get impactful options? Absolutely! Does that mean they should get nothing else? No that’s stupid.

Void Elves shouldn’t get any more attention until other allied races are caught up.

Now here I agree with you. Void Elves got some big impact options early, so they should rightfully wait till the rest of the allied races get their pass. But that doesn’t mean people can’t or shouldn’t talk about their wants for Void Elves. Some people want more High Elf options, others want more Void-centric options. And some, like myself, just want… options. Ideally options that can work for anything.

Right and have you crunched the numbers of the possible combinations the MULTIPLE skin and eye colors VEs have gotten them compared to every other allied race you mentioned? You literally proved my point in your post but you’re unwilling to see the extent to which Blizzard has already given you what your group has been asking for.

If you wanna talk combination numbers… weren’t Orcs the race that beat everyone by a mile? I think it’s you that needs some “self awareness” as to just how childish you are behaving right now.

Orc males and NE females have the most possible options. Are they allied races? Now do the numbers for which allied race currently has the most customization total options. I’ll wait.

Getting called childish by someone in a camp of people that continues to complain/ask for more in spaces where other players are airing grievances/asking for more options AFTER the race you’re complaining about has already received SO much is par on the course for High Elf fanboys. Literally the lore has evolved. Accept it and move on.

Look, I get where your animosity comes from, but you aren’t going to lump me into one box or another. Your “accept it and move on” doesn’t pertain to me, no matter how much you want to think that I am part of some hive mind. It’s rude and insulting, so I am politely asking you to stop doing that.

Would it surprise you to know I’ve been an ardent supporter of Nightborne options too? That I believe that core races that are currently still lacking and all other allied races should get attention before Void Elves? Because that’s my position. I have a veritable shopping list of things I want for the Nightborne. You might be shocked at how much you and I have in common as far as our wants go.

I say you’re acting childish because you’re basically saying that since Void Elves got options that (I assume) you didn’t want them to get in the first place, and possibly because of the dreadful state Nightborne have been left in all this time, that Void Elves should get nothing. That’s childish and spiteful. Self awareness indeed.

I’m bouncing because I s2g High Elf fanboys kill every thread about allied race customization. I truly don’t care Void Elves got the options they got. Good for you. My grievance is that OTHER races should receive as many options. When there is space to talk about OTHER allied races players like you begin your same 5 points about ‘High Elf options’ and ‘more Void Elf options.’ Void Elves shouldn’t get anything for now because you’ve already gotten a lot. I and many players stand by that. What you High Elf fanboys could do if you cared about LF Draenei or any other race besides the Warcraft 3 fantasy high elf you want to play (which you could on Horde you all just want it on Alliance).

You are upset people don’t have the patience to discuss allied race options with people that have little self awareness, like many in this thread have commented when High Elf fanboys like you comment. You also didn’t acknowledge that VE currently have the MOST customization options by a mile compared to all other allied races. Bc that would require self awareness. Politely asking someone to do something and then calling them childish and spiteful. Truly a trip. Be well.

Look if you’re going to get triggered any time Void Elves are mentioned in regards to customization that’s a “you” problem

I’m not “upset” about anything other than you trying to lump me into a group. I’m not a group. I’m an individual, and my opinions and desires do not necessarily coincide with the “group” you’re so lacking in “patience” for.

Here’s some cold hard facts for you. Void Elves ARE going to get more options when allied races get their pass (what those options will be is up in the air). No temper tantrum on your part is going to change that. And if the topic of allied race customization comes up, Void Elves will inevitably be mentioned. So you’d best avoid any topic talking about general allied race customization if you don’t want to see posts about Void Elves come up and get triggered like you are right now.

If not for the negative posts that followed the OP for daring to mention Void Elves, we probably wouldn’t be having this discussion right now.

You and others could have simply posted about the options you’d like to see for races other than Void Elves, but no, you couldn’t help yourself. You had to make posts like:

Void Elves need nothing.

I’m good for literally ALL allied races except VE to get some love.

S e l f a w a r e n e s s indeed.

Laughable, really laughable, considering I’m usually one of the nicer people on these threads, I just get sick of people like you which are the real people that are self entitled and think oh I want this so I should get it.

I don’t think Midare or Naughtymoon are hateful. Passionate to be sure, and defensive over what they feel is a misappropriation of themes belonging to the Horde, but not hateful.

Midare, Naughtymoon, and I have differing viewpoints on the topic of Void Elf customization, but we’ve had very civil discussions and even found some common ground.

Ideally I’d like every debate I have with someone over differing viewpoints to be more like the discussions I’ve had with both of them.

I don’t think asking for blonde and white hair color for void elves is asking for much at this point. Once we got the skin tones might as well just give the hair colors now.

This is what you think this is about?

It’s a objective fact that VE got more customizations than any other AR. It’s a fair thing to say other ARs deserve to be remembered more and be given more to balance things out… but I know well that for some people “balance” translates into “I get more than anyone else”.

I’d laugh if it wasn’t because this “How dare you feeling entitled to something you had” attutide it’s so old and overdone. Yeah, people will be protective of to something they have, you are the one that won’t stop demanding for that… do you even know what “entitled” even means?

Is it? Not trying to argue here, but is that objectively true?

Mechagnomes got 4 new skin tones, 14 eye color options, 3 new “parts” customization options, and 3 paint options

Void Elves got 14 new skin tones and 10 eye color options and that’s it.

I may have missed something in my tally though so please correct me if I am mistaken.

I think Mag’har Orcs, may have gotten even more than either Void Elves or Mechagnomes but I haven’t counted all their options yet.
