Finally have a system that’s working. Now they want to change it? Let me say this… Whenever Blizz inserts hidden math into pvp it gets wrecked. If they want to make pvp gear less efficient in pve and more efficient in pvp settings you have hidden math… Remember it’s one step away from scaling. We would just be on our way back to bfa hidden math scaling systems. Wod was a step in the wrong direction.
Lol there is no hidden math son, it says what it does on the tool tip.
I guess that’s technically true?
As of right now. Yes. But ion had mentioned bring back wod style pvp gearing. Say currently a 220 pvp player goes into a dungeon or raid he’s all of a sudden 205 ilvl in pve… And vice versa… Hidden math
No dude, that’s what I’m talking about. Using our current ilevels as example, wod style would be something like this: honour gear is ilvl 200 and scales up to 213 in PvP, conquest gear is ilvl 213 and scales up to 226 in PvP. There no hidden math, it says what it scales up to on the item tool tip.
Except that u are using the very word that set legion and bfa pvp backwards so far as to almost ruination… Scale. I guess I’m just saying it’s a slippery slope… What was before legion and bfa scaling?.. Wod
Lol you just wanna keep boosting.
No I just picked pvp as my main source of content to play. I just don’t want to see a step backwards towards bfa scaling and to me wod is that step
Who cares. I just want my gear. If all that time you spent getting yours gets ruined i don’t care. I love WoD style gearing it easily separated the trash from the elite.
U mean u want free hand outs because free loot will make u better at pvp? I fail to see your logic
You actually have no idea what you’re talking about.
WoD scaling was very, very different from – and superior to – Legion or BFA.
Yes. Theirs nothing better then free. It’s hilarious how a so called casual would rather waste his life grinding for pixels with higher digit numbers.
Yep hes clueless
every person i have ever talked to has always preferred wod style of gearing over legion/bfa/SL
Wod gearing is nothing like templates that was in place for Legion and early BFA. Legion and BFA was was a step backwards from an already great system. Trust me if you spend most your time in pvp you want this.
You lost all value to your argument soon as you started spreading this filth.
I posted this and another thread where someone said WoD gearing was bad, but I would love to hear your response as to why WoD gearing wasn’t good Soulbleeder.
Was it that it took so little time to get a decent honor gear set?
Was it because honor gear and conquest gear was too close together in power, making PVP too balanced?
Was it because there was no rating gates and eventually everyone could get conquest gear?
Was it because PVP gear was the best gear for PVP?
Was it because the gear had 2 real secondary stats instead of vers + one secondary stat?
Was it because conquest catch up was too fast on alts?
Was it because rating only got you more conquest each week and not gear that unrated players couldn’t get?
Please do enlighten us.
can someone pls enlighten me on what was said about changing pvp gearing, I did not watch blizzcon
It was not in blizzcon per se, but from an interview during Blizzcon:
https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/91-pvp-gearing-changes/877857
WoD pvp gearing was 100% better than what we have now. Hopefully they go back as close to wod as possible without screwing it up.
Soulbleeder is afraid his inadequacies will come to the forefront if he isn’t facing people that are at a disadvantage due to gear.
the math on scaling wasn’t hidden entirely, basically that is a bad complaint about scaling. scaling had its problems, but the player unable to do math is not one of them. in fact the only reason that is considered a complaint is because someone made a outrage video trashing it in order to get views.
like, if you are going to complain about something, at least have a valid complaint, the “hidden math” complaint isn’t valid because the nature of pvp makes your ability to do the math live irrelevant.(i do the math live in my head as im playing, and you only need to do that in pve)
here is why the hidden math argument is bunk:
say someone has a sliver of HP left, exactly 2k hp. well i could hit my soul reaper, that will do 2k damage when it procs and kill them right? wrong, they pop a CD and absorb it. they countered my math, therefore my calculation of if SR would kill them was not correct. so i need to hit them with something else and look for whatever i have that will put out 2k damage and go through whatever counter they are doing. that is playing by feel, and that is how pvp is done. scaling allowed for play by feel without issues.
legit complaints about scaling have to do with how it caused problems for everyone by lagging up the server, an individual not able to bully others around with their gear is exactly what scaling was designed to prevent, so when they make a complaint about hidden math, you have to remember that is working as intended.
