FTFY, you’re welcome
Advantages over level 1s? Ok. That’s still not ‘winning’ when you have level 60s in Naxx gear.
Just wait til Ashes is dead after the first month, like every other MMO that isn’t made by blizzard.
It’s quite common to consider any sort of in-game power as pay to win, even if it’s not a literal “win”.
Calling it pay for convenience is a dangerous slope to stand on since that can be used to justify a lot worse than a level 58 boost using the exact same logic.
From what I understand pay to win is exactly that, paying for an item or some other thing in a game that is not only better than what you can get in-game but inaccessible to others unless you buy it. Paying for a level boost that anyone can do for free, by just playing the game is far from that.
Pay to win isn’t something that is that well defined or fully agreed upon just what the definition is.
Like I said I know plenty of people who historically have considered it any and all in-game power purchased directly from the developers with real money while insisting that it has to be something not otherwise obtainable in-game is often used as an excuse to defend bad practices, because “it’s not like it’s pay to win”.
In either case your definition basically gives them the green light to sell raid gear, which would be disastrous for the game’s health and longevity in either Classic or Retail.
Which means even using your definition, it being “pay for convenience” isn’t a good enough argument for it being in the game because that convenience can be extremely bad for the game.
I would hope we can agree that selling a fully kitted out in Sunwell gear character is a bad thing for the game regardless of the semantics of what we personally want to call it between pay to win or pay for convenience.
Which makes the debate more: Where do we draw the line?
Because obviously a level 58 boost isn’t on the same level as full Sunwell gear.
Not only that but they actually have no power gain over 60s. They’re limping in and running up against level 60s. Zero advantage
what do i win from buying a boost? winning is usually defined as victorious against another party, but im the only person playing my account. I dont get it.
There’s definitely a fine line that Blizzard has to be careful not to cross, and if they ever do I’ll be right there with you with my pitchfork. But a level 58 boost isn’t it, no matter what anyone’s definition of p2w is.
Uldum was a zone in cataclysm
Ulduar was a raid in Wotlk
It is simply by way of crafting professions on an alt for your main. Have 3 accounts? you just got the ability to crank out 3 more 4 day tailoring cooldowns to help you rush your mains bis items. P2W
I have orange and pink parses (with a gold parse on Gluth) and have parses in every phase of Classic WoW and I am against boosts.
So your entire assumption that anyone against boosts hasn’t cleared naxx and grey parses is flawed.
Anyone?
Go take a reading comprehension class.
Ok so you found 1 person with grey parses and 1 person not making it 50%.
You need to present 19 people for your statement to still be correct without anyone else being found in my shoes
The vast majority of my posts is me responding to nearly every anti boost thread and bashing non naxx clearing idiot OPs the same way I did to this OP. I know a shadow priest is a joke to play as and requires no research, but try harder next time. Hurr durr I got oranges and pinks. Me: pretty legit as a healer… oh…
Which increases the market supply and drives down the price of goods
Sounds like other boosting helps with the cost of goods for others and hurts the market gougers
Ok so which “super hard” class do you play that has an exteremly hard rotation? Let’s face it parsing is more to do with preparation & group comp than it does your individual skill
How bout stay on the subject and cross reference my statement about how I respond to anti boost OPs by saying they can’t do current content? This thread isn’t about you pressing shadow word pain, mindblast, and maybe getting a mindflay off against a very tiny pool of shadow priests in all of classic wow.
Hehe shows you didn’t look at my logs at all with that statement.
hehe goes to show you still need to take a reading comprehension class to think you and the op are the only people I wrote against about this cringe anti boost nonsense.
