Don’t you wish Blizzard was like this?

“Ashes of Creation will not be pay to win, that is our pledge to the community. One of the core principles we set forth with Ashes of Creation is a very strong desire to maintain the game’s even playing field.

A lot of developers and companies have come along in the past- and I’ve been hit by this too- and they’ve said we’re not going to have pay-to-win and then boom they roll out some pay-to-win. We have consistently said we won’t be pay-to-win and in the pre-orders that we provide and even in the Kickstarter there were absolutely zero pay-to-win components whatsoever. So not only will we talk the talk but we will walk the walk as well.

Because we are a non-box purchase game, meaning there is no box price to play Ashes of Creation, it is only a subscription; and that’s beneficial because it reduces the barrier of entry and we want a high population obviously; but at the same time one of the ways we augment the revenue flows to sustain constant updates and new chapter releases and additional content within the game is through a cosmetic-only marketplace; and that means absolutely no pay-to-win whatsoever; and that will be adhered to forever.”

Since there’s nothing in WoW that’s P2W I guess we already have it.

And oh yeah it does have a store just like WoW, oh and their store is actually a lot more invasive than what we’re getting in TBC Classic.

Cosmetics only. I.E skins without any stats.

The boost is pay to win, and the inevitable tokens/paid mounts that are coming in the future.

So what in wow is p2w? Is there something I can buy that other players cannot get in game?

Omg. It’s not that hard to understand.

The win is that you get to swipe a credit card and gain 58 levels, and in the future possibly a token/mount that you can use to gain a gameplay advantage over someone that did not swipe their credit card. The “win” is the time saved on leveling, farming gold, farming gold for mount.

Boosts aren’t pay to win though.

And people running around on sparkly mounts is actually far more immersion breaking that boosts. Can you even identify a boosted character in game?

Yes they are. I’d rather have skins that don’t do anything versus a legitimate gameplay advantage.

Ok, so I don’t gain any advantage over any other player other than 1 GDKPs worth of gold. Thanks for proving my point, no p2w as they are worse off than a regular leved 58. A boosted 58 would lose to a regular 58, therefore boosting is disadvantageous in terms of game mechanics therefor not p2w. just a shortcut to a worse result you gotta work up from.

“legitimate gameplay advantage” which is? A 58 boosted is worse than a regular 58. No advantage.

Sorry your times so worthless a few bucks to save some doesn’t appeal to you

Level 58 with junk gear is not winning.

You’re ignoring everything. The shortcut to level 58 is the advantage. Not the items/gear.

In TBC when most people will be walking through the dark portal with geared level 60’s a level 58 with junk gear is not an advantage, it’s the bare minimum.

But they have no advantage? They’re worse off.

Do you think people who are unemployed with more free time have an advantage over you because they have time?

just shut up and admit you just personally dislike it and move on. These pathetic excuses are laughable.

They have an advantage over someone that chooses not to pay. Because that person has to spend time getting to level 58.

“Just shut up”. Resorting to insults? Nice one.

Spend time or spend money. I spent my time getting that money, so my times spent all the same. Now what is your argument?

About as productive as you trying to argue this point. So, I’d say it’s all fair game.

You spent time making money irl. Not in game.

Spending time is not winning or losing.

I spent time IRL playing the game. How far you gonna split this hair? Down to the molocule?

I wouldn’t say a boost is pay to win. If I level an alt to 58 and duel a 58 booster, who would win? What’s the boosters advantage? If anything they suck more because they skipped 58 levels…

No idea what you are even saying anymore.

Not surprising since you got no idea what p2w means either.
