LOL. Bad. Troll is bad.
Yes. The Ray-Tracing for WoW is extremely minor.
Hereâs a video that goes through what will be different.
I donât use CYBER PUNK.
My graphics is the latest edition. I just did a Microsoft Update and Nvideon.
Did you put 93 in it?
It does! In fact when you turn ray tracing on WoW looks 100% identical to the cinematic but during all game play. Go buy the card!
Wow that is very cool I noticed now my tendrils have better shadows!!!
I think this is good for RP.
I wasnât too impressed by raytracing in WoW. Significant performance hit, very minor difference in visual quality.
I will turn it on when I do RP but turn it off when I do intense things like world quests and JAILER.
Unfortunately ray tracing requires the 2004 build of Windows 10, which my PC refuses to update to, and which I will not follow Microsoftâs advice to uninstall all third party software to get the update to install properly.
Windows 10 wasnât out in 2004 omg hello???
Youâre trying way too hard.
You say minor but it is a very nice touch having the armour castings shadows across the model like that and a lot more natural shadows in general for the enviroments.
Not the end of the world, for sure, but pretty~
The fact that people are still trying to respond to this seriously has me concerned for the human race.
Limited sometjme
*Nvidia ray-tracing.
âŚHauh?
Yes it does, though itâs implementation is very basic and barely noticeable, at least looking at the videos on YouTube that itâs just pretty much extra or more detailed shadows and such. Which is fitting i guess considering the name of the expac is called Shadowlands.
Well first and formost, you have to have a GPU (Graphics card) that is has Ray Tracing support, like NVIDIAâs RTX 20 or 30 series.
Second, after you install the GPU into your computer, you turn the âRay traced shadowsâ on in the graphics option.
Thrid, enjoy.
Cool, which one?
⌠Okay rephrase.
Did you get either of these things?
- RTX 2060
- RTX 2060 TU104
- RTX 2060 Super
- RTX 2070
- RTX 2070 Super
- RTX 2080
- RTX 2080 Super
- RTX 2080 TI
- RTX Titan
- RTX 3060
- RTX 3060 TI
- RTX 3070
- RTX 3080
- RTX 3090
Would you like more hyper in your bowl?
ok, iâm going to bite.
is op planning on making a pirate server or something?

Okay question. Whatâs the big hullaballoo with ray tracing?
You first have to know what raytracing is before you want it. And itâs not new, itâs technology thatâs been around since the early 2000s; and is what is primarily used to render what you see in game.
Essentially what raytracing is, is simply simulated beams of light to hit on the surface of a polygon and bounce back in order to generate the right amount of lighting to output the correct color.
You can see it in action when you are modeling 3D assets, and is dependent on rendering engines. A popular engine for artists is EEVEE, which is used primarily in Blender, a tool to model assets with.
So if you want to imagine how this works, imagine the entire map of Revendreth, but without color, now imagine we take a sun and place it in the sky, then take each individual beam coming from the sun and shoot it at Revendreth, and depending on the way it bounces it will form shadows, reflection, shine, postprocessing etc. The kind of raytracing used determines how good those things will be.
Again this isnât new, the tech has been here for years now, idk why nvidia is acting like they invented it.
- you need an AMD or Nvidia graphics card that supports Ray Tracing.
- If yes to #1, open settings, navigate to advanced graphics, and check the box that says Enable Ray Tracing, then choose your desired quality level.
- if itâs greyed out, then this means you do not have a compatible graphics card or if you do, then you need to update your graphics drivers if you have not bothered to update them in many months or install them.
Thats what raytracing does. Congratulations you did it!
