Do you think the Sethrak and Mechagnome fanbase will ever get along?

That was shown to not matter, actually, when we got void elves and they got nightborne.

Except the shendralar were basically being absorbed into the Night elves and thus have to conform to their values and way of life.

The Nightborne would not have had any desire to submit to this, particularly since they had more in common with the Blood elves then the kaldorei.

In what way? Still really vague. Their lifestyles seem compatible to me.

Well then maybe there is one teeny tiny thing that Sethrak fans might have been forgetting. Maybe their relentless of bashing of Mechagnomes has made their fanbase look really really toxic and vile. You have to remember that blizzard put a lot of love into Mechagon and making one of the most elaborate high effort zones in BFA as well as the Mechagnomes themselves. Maybe sethrak fans emitting so much toxicity made them think “Huh. These guys aren’t deserving of getting their desired allied race”.

Sethrak have no reason to be playable.

And if they were, they would be horde.

Alright there is my based post for the day.

Let’s see if it will go places.

It’s too bad they put so much effort into making a robot diaper-wearing version of the already most unpopular race in the entire game.

No, my dude, there isn’t nearly as much toxicity around this as you think there is. It’s the same as any AR, feature, or customization request. You view it as toxicity because you take the critique personally as a mechagnome main. We’re not critiquing you and we are not mad that mechagnomes are playable. I’m willing to be everyone would be fine with it if we got anything else too. We’re mad that they were made playable instead of something that people actually wanted.

Because, yes, while there are 5 people who really love mechagnomes, it is a fact that far, far more people would like sethrak.

idk of anyone suggesting we have playable mini mecha Godzillas but ok. ;D

Sethrak people want Sethrak because Danger Noodles are Ssssuper cool and Ssssleak. (and with wing mog in Shadowlands could pretend RP they have a dragon serpent.

Mechagnomes. well they are just Gnomes with robot parts. sure, it makes sense. Sure its a “no brainier” that they are an Allied race but that doesn’t mean it adds any desire to play Alliance more.

they could have made Mecha Druids. Transformers. “Optimization through augmentation”

that could have helped a little.

But Sethrak on the Alliance could Shift or at least slow the growing faction imbalance. it would be a unique race that, if done right, could sway the masses.

Okay. Well that seems more understandable. I wish blizzard hadn’t had this idea of slots from the beginning. That way there would be no worries about one coming in place of the other.

The Night elves are defined almost entirely by two key components: their desire to live in harmony with the natural world and their exaltation of Elune as a monothestic god. In every community where they live we see this time and again, from darkshore to val’shorath.

These two things aren’t present in Suramar at all; the city is built on a foundation of the arcane and all signs point to them being secular given the absence of any sort of temple or reference to a religious faith.

Like, if they weren’t purple I don’t think anyone would be making this arguement.

It’s not present in any other Alliance cultures, either. They get along just fine.

And which group of elves do the traits I’ve described (along with recovering from the effects of mana addiction) are they more in line with: Kaldorei or Sindorei?

Are you implying the Alliance wouldn’t accept elves if they weren’t tree-huggers? Because, uh… I’ve got some bad news for you.

The same. A gnome made of wood. And they will still demand that the alliance appreciate the enormous effort spent in making fun of the alliance, again.

I’m saying that from Thalyserra’s standpoint the Horde was a better fit for her people then the elves due to them having more in common with the Belves then the Nelves.

Sethrak would’ve been a very cool addition to either side. Their culture is very unique and interesting. I think the same for Saurok as well.

Scaley race for everyone!

From where I’m standing, it’d probably be easier to establish lore for a saurak tribe to join the alliance then the sethrakk; you could pitch it as them being mercenaries that saw more opportunities with the alliance then the horde.

i dont think i could get along with anyone who actually likes the mechagnomes.

I want Sethrak and don’t think about Mechagnomes at all. I think I can unlock them right now through the quest but have no desire to do so.

A gnome made of wood you say?

Enter forest gnomes and I’ll bet you many would love if gnomes like these were playable. Its all about the design direction.

So sethraks can join the horde.
I don’t see any problem with that, not least because their story wasn’t written with alliance as their destination.

Sethrak joining the horde will be no more absurd than vulperas in the horde.
I’d rather sethraks be a race playable in the horde than anywhere.
The Alliance? Alliance can pick up a stick full of termites. It’s going to be as impactful and desirable as everything we’ve had in BfA.

Nightborne shouldn’t have joined either the horde or the alliance.
They should have remained neutral, as both factions helped them. Even thanks to the Night Elf who helps them with the magic tree.
