Do you play GW2? Why or why not?

Actually, this was likely done for China. IIRC this change came around the time the China client dropped.

I know Anet is a Seattle company and they have publicly fired at least 3 people in the last 5 years for awful radical takes on social media that reflected poorly on the company, but if these people had any kind of power at Anet I don’t think the light armor sets would look the way they do on female characters.

to be fair here, Anet is part of NCSoft and rumors are the Cantha expansion was delayed until now for similar reasons above. There was supposedly a transition between management for the company and some developers left some hints about that inside the game (Lions Arch), if you dig deep you may find more information.

because it’s impossible to login. wrong password, change it, wrong password, uninstall.

Game runs rather terribly, and has absurd amounts of bloat in terms of currencies. Cash shop is a bit too intrusive.

The inability to move from one zone to the next is annoying (granted, this is an issue in WoW currently, but that hasn’t always been the case).

The worst is the combat itself, it just feels … plastic. GW2’s biggest draws to me is how interesting exploration is, and some of the zone designs are simply fantastic. I log on probably once a year, run around a bit, and quickly get reminded why I never stuck with it too long.

That’s interesting. I wouldn’t know, haven’t touched the game in a while. I was really into it during vanilla, but I quickly lost interest after Heart of Thorns and I only come back to it once or twice per year now.

Did you start during the first expansion? Raids weren’t in the game for the first few years. Maybe it was WvW you did?

I leveled my second guardian without killing anything. Even in the starting zone I let everyone else kill the stuff. Then I just started exploring all the way to 80.

Isnt EVE just a visually fancy spreadsheet simulator? Haven’t seen anything about it that screams epic space adventure, mystery and conflict yet.

yes and no, but EVE is a very complex game to master to the point there are channels dedicated to teaching players everything inside the game (“universities”). It is a very unforgiving game though.

You might get a better space adventure game with Elite Dangerous

i dont play it. i liked the gameplay, it seemed interesting how they approached leveling, i like how its just map objectives and u just go do it, and theres even exploration, with an xp bonus at the end if you complete the whole thing

i dont play it because im super invested in WoW and was even back when i tried it like 3 years ago lol. Ill always recommend it tho

Think 4X Strategy Space Game+Politics simulator, but instead of a Computer running it, it’s all people.

People who are completely and utterly ‘Illegitimate’.

Think my want for epic space mmo might be to ahead of it’s time, like a combo of no man’s sky, eso and wildstar lol.

Whole world (universe) PVP. It’s a sandbox so there are no theme park rides; you have to figure out your own path.

As I said, it’s probably not for everyone but it’s far better, more detailed world than the fantasy MMOs I’ve played. Especially if you like PVP.

I still want a Starcraft MMO. I want to play a Zerg; I don’t care how they do it, but I want that so badly gosh darnit. And to have a Protoss alt character. I’ve wanted this for so long.

That would be Star Citizen. Coming to you in 2022, 2024, 2030, this millennium… this heat-death of the Universe…

Awesome guys thanks!

I got to level cap and didn’t touch it again after that. Game isn’t bad but isn’t interesting either.

Why? Asura.
Why not? Jumping puzzles and generally not feeling powerful with zero upward mobility. Like my engineer, with a rifle I was crap even with the “best” gear, apparently “the way to play that class” was get in melee range and set off bombs until whatever it is dies.

That sounded as stupid as jumping puzzles in an MMO so I haven’t played it in quite a while. Would totally trade gnomes for asura though, that still stands. Just as a for instance, there was a subclass of engineer that used swords and holograms, but the only way to access it was 50 jumping puzzles, so I never got to try it.

No, because it’s a terrible game and because NcSoft is a terrible company.

I don’t know. Did the first expansion come out on launch day for Guild Wars 2?
