Depends if I have been in that zone a lot or not. I HATE listening to the same soundtrack over and over everyday.
Lol. I just don’t like rap, hip hop, R&B or reggae. Nothing against them. Just not a fan.

Usually I listen to my own choice of music but occasionally I want that WoW vibe music and I press that ctrl m and yum

The past several months I’ve mainly only been listening to music at the gym. I never really do it while doing other things like gaming, studying, etc.
Unless it’s the game’s music, it’d be too distracting. I don’t really listen to WoW’s music anyways. I prefer more melody in my game music and being more pronounced and WoW’s has always been more ambient and suited for the background.

If it’s high keys, arena or raid, it’s game music time + disc.
If it’s world content or low keys, I’ll generally have some YouTube playing lol.

Depends on my mood. It’s usually off in shadowlands zones - and on in classic zones. I like the classic zone music a lot (because it’s Amazing).
So I guess it also depends on where I is! 
The Northrend music is amazing as well, so is Cataclysm

I always have the game sound on (I can’t play games without sound), but I often have my own music instead of the in-game music.

People can hear your outside music in game? Like if your playing your Spotify and I’m close to you I hear it? That’s so dope if true.

When playing this character I tend to listen to wow music thats on youtube. Something like:
On other characters I have different playlist that have anything from metal, folk, country and even classical music.

I usually listen to metalcore or grime while playing. Sometimes electro, sometimes just in-game music.
Yep, if you have Musician you can hear what I play. I even give frequent impromptu concerts in Stormwind, and sometimes even get a small crowd.

Neither actually… Music to me just becomes white noise and is distracting, so I turn game music off and play in silence. (game sound on though)

Battlegrounds are almost in-game music.
Torghast is usually outside music.
Dungeons and overworld stuff is sometimes the in-game music, unless it’s music I don’t like or it’s annoying me. Sometimes listen to shows or podcasts while doing trivial or grindy solo stuff.
Raid: Game.
Everything else: Music, podcasts etc.
