Holy smokes that’s awesome!
I listen to lofi hip hop on YouTube.
I have a couple mixes I listen to mostly. One is soundtracks, original scores to games and movies, and stuff like Two Steps from Hell, and choral classical music. The other is celtic and related stuff like Enya, Loreena McKennit, Anuna, Libera and so on. Both fit fantasy gaming well in my experience.
I tried listening to a podcast while playing, but I just felt so…detached I guess. I just couldnt so any m+ or raids that way. I guess WQ would be fine but it really feels strange without the sound for some reason.
I listen to Twitch streamers while I do WQs.
Yeah I’ll listen to speakers sometimes, like Explain This Comics Guys! podcast and others.
Wow, who knew? Music, the universal language
Sometimes I’ll turn on my own music in dungeons or raids. When I’m just on auto play killing stuff.
But usually I just stick to the game music. It’s less distracting to me if I’m trying to do something.
I listen to both…depending.
I cannot fathom listening to anything but the game score when playing. I’m sure other people would disagree, but if one thing has been consistantly top notch in this game is the ambient zone sound effects and the music. Some zones are better than others, Ardenweald kinda got the short end of the stick imo, but I still listen to it all the same
Totally agree…mostly…
Mechagon? Had to rip my head set off after 5 minutes first time I was there.
It’s usually after the first year I switch back and forth. Though in Tiragarde Sound & Zuldazar they were always on.
I was playing WoW yesterday listening to the Destiny 1 soundtrack lol
Will usually have some music going alongside
I have a “warriors” playlist that is all about hyping me up, getting violent and smashing things.
I love heavy metal
Music usually, although on occasion I run Netflix on my second monitor. The only time I have the game volume on is when I do new content for the first time in case there’s any dialogue or other audio I haven’t heard yet.
I also have a dedicated “PvP playlist” on YouTube that I put on when I do PvP lol
For me, when I’m in that need to smash and kill NOW it’s hard rock…never could get into heavy metal. Actually tried to a on and off but nope
I either listen to music or have Netflix/Hulu as background noise. Sometimes I just game with the games audio on, I think WoW has really god ambient music and some of the in-game sound effects are just things I’ve been used to for the past decade or so. But some of the new NPC sounds are annoying to me. The night fae fairies in particular.
Too many genres of Metal so it’s hard to say. there a lot of metal I cannot stand, even though I’ve been listening to metal since i was probably 8 lol
My Warriors playlist is mostly made up right now of: Disturbed, Iced Earth, Megadeth, Anthrax, Blind Guardian.
Blind Guardian and Iced Eath are also somewhat “themed” as they’re very fantasy based and tend to have songs that match up with charging into battle quite well.
And for Megadeth, “This day we fight!” is an absolute monster song to open any instance with
Who?? lol …
Sorry I’m old.
Me too, 60…still… nope
