Do you listen to music or game

Only for the first few weeks of a new expansion or the first few days of a new patch/zone.

99% of the time I have spotify or youtube open instead.

I do occasionally listen to the game soundtrack while not playing WoW though which is weird.

I always listen to the game. I come to Azeroth to completely escape from Earth.

I can’t do the in game soundtrack for long. I need more juice than it offers.

Me: Alexa…play hard rock
Alexa: Here’s a station for you, Top Rock by Amazon Music

Depends on my mood.

I always play with the game sound on, as I pick up on auditory cues almost better than visual ones. However, I sometimes mute the game music to listen to my own, or to none at all.

currently?

…i’m listening to my neighbors music.

Same but that’s because that’s just how the brain is wired. If you listen to the same things too long your brain basically goes “OH FOR GODS SAKE GIVE ME SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO PROCESS”

This is why sometimes if you have a song stuck in your head it gets really really really annoying lol

It depends on what I am doing. If I’m questing, especially quests I’ve never done before, I listen to the game sounds so I can hear what little voice acting there is and get some immersion. Otherwise I’ll either listed to podcasts, or music, or have youtube videos playing on the other screen. I like listening/watching Preach’s Drama Time videos, or Critical Role (almost caught up on season 2) or spooky videos of supposed ghosts or supernatural stuff caught on camera (even though I’m 100% atheist and don’t believe in anything supernatural, I still love all the creepy stuff).

For music I am currently listening to the Hamilton soundtrack on constant repeat (despite it being out for ages I only recently watched it so the obsession is fresh for me). Once I’m bored of that I’ll go back to my 80s/90s/00s alternative stuff.

I’m actually not crazy into music. I enjoy it, and I’ll listen to almost anything. I grew up on country and classic rock, but there isn’t any music genre that I don’t like at least a few songs. But I couldn’t name any bands, or if a song played, even a well known one, I likely wont know who sings it.

coughs
I was like baby, baby, Baby. Oooooooh!

My own playlists. Not a huge fan of the SL soundtrack. Mostly rock and metal.

I usually have something like Netflix playing or a funny streamer. Or just the cat yelling at me for some BS reason.

Mostly my own music these days. I used to listen to the game music a lot more. But then, the game music used to be a lot better. Through a combination of key talent leaving, and the disease of the modern ‘generic epic orchestral’ trend, it’s just not as interesting anymore.

It’s still good, of course, just not something I’m going to leave on loop for hours.

The other thing is, the music used to match the pacing of the game much better. But with the game being such a go-go-go, frenetic pace kind of thing these days, that’s not the case anymore.

Although I’ve been subscribed to audible for a long time and own lots of Audible books I also find it difficult to listen to novels. I fall right to sleep. Way to slow, with some exceptions.

I did buy a couple Warcraft paperbacks, but none of them kept my interest and hard to tell what is supposed to be Canon.

So after seeing this thread, I thought, maybe I’d like listening to the Warcraft books. So after I posted I bought “Shadow Rising.”–Supposedly Shadowland based, It was on all night. it was snail-paced, I fell asleep and each time I woke up it was minutiae and overly descriptive of feelings, without a sense of action.

it has another hour to go. Maybe there are more Shadowland based books coming.

First time thru… I’ll listen to game music, speech, etc.
Second time thru: Queue: Combichrist, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Amon Amarath, and The Misfits.
