Do the classes need a shake up?

I’d say Necromancer. They could be ranged use mail (with bone themes think D2/D3 Necromancer gear). Could be a Ranged spec summoning undead and throwing bone spikes at enemies. Could have a tank spec using (again D3 idea for Bone Armor) to rip bones from enemies etc. and a healing spec… because after all what is a necromancer but a healer with bad timing?

This game was built on the holy trinity. It still has the best combat system of any MMO. I can’t agree with “fixing” something that isn’t broken at all outside of tuning and that’s just math that blizzard refuses to do.

This isn’t even a suggestion.

So you want all these players to “fail”, quit the game, and take their money elsewhere? Why would you do that to feral? What did the nice kitties ever do to you?

So?? lol

This game changes ALL THE TIME. The fact it CHANGES is the only thing you can say FOR SURE will happen in WoW. lol

This sort of inability to think outside the box is one of the many things killing WoW.

Shaking up the “holy trinity” was one of the things that IMMEDIATELY drew me to GW2 when it was in development. They did it wrong (at least at release), and I wasn’t a fan of their implementation, but they had the right idea.

We get nerfed into oblivion at the beginning of every expac. They do some adjustments and due to borrowed power, we end up pretty top tier. But things go back into the basement again for the beginning of the next expac.

And yet, in Arena. Gods all Shadowlands long.

Only for Arms. But Arms was always the pvp spec.

Shakin not stirred. Thanks.

I still think dark ranger is going to be the next class.

BFA ended with them adding in reasons why Dark Rangers would be on both the Alliance and Horde. We know they won’t be getting rid of Shillvanas anytime soon. Ruins of Teldrassil would be a lore-friendly zone for a raid… and sadly would provide for lots of opportunities for Shillvanas to monologue about how sad she is and for Danuser to tell us that it isn’t the goth waifu’s fault and how stupid Tyrande was for being angry about that whole genocide thing.

Side note: Mail, ranged weapons, and it kind of fits the niche people are expecting tinker to: averaging out mail users and giving a second class for gun/bow itemization.

I would hope they mix it up a bit with a dual wield melee spec, a healer spec (bard?) and the classic dark ranger. Special moves could include ineffectually trying to guitar slide at someone mounted on a warhorse and being very surprised indeed when you fail to reach him.

I’m not saying tanking is broken but there are flaws with the system (primarily 2 tanks per 20-30 people for raising and 1 tank per 5 people for dungeons creating an abundance of tanks for raiding and shortage of tanks for M+; secondary is the investment in obtaining item sets/legendaries/renown for your tank spec and DPs Spec as opposed to just 1)

If there is a system where tank mechanics are incorporated into every DPS toolkit, it could be pretty cool.

Taunt swaps and active mitigation can still exist but like incorporate some of those into the DPS and healer. Ex. Whoever does the most DPS gets aggro and weaves in their defensive cooldowns until they run out and another DPS taunts or pulls aggro with their burst and use their defensive cooldowns… etc rotate for packs that don’t have speciality aggro mechanics but for packs that have special aggro mechanics you use crowd control abilities to manage them. Ranged might not have taunts but being other utility to the group like class flavored DRs or better cc than melee

Not saying they should do this but it’s an interesting thing to consider and could revolutionize combat by shifting the roles

Or they could just stop trying to make it increasingly onerous and expensive to maintain multiple specs.

You asked me on another thread what is wrong with advocating for something they want.

My answer is this: plugging an idea incessantly…:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Oh ok so then I guess warriors weren’t overly dominant?

What?

One spec does not make all warriors dominant, no. It makes Arms dominant in PVP.

Come on, man be serious. Warrior 12%

#2 6%?

And that’s not a stacked class?

I think the game needs a massive shakeup on class design.
They need to sit down with all past and present spells and talents, all artifact weapon traits and legendary powers, all azerite traits and essences, all conduits and covenant abilities. Make specs that feel good to play from level 1 and get better and better until level 60 (or 70 idk) instead of watered down specs that only feel full at endgame with optimal systems.
