They obviously don’t see it as a big enough issue.
We care about bots and Chinese bots orgnizate GDKP, not boosting.
Why do people have such a problem with boosting? That’s how i make gold on my mage.
A 2-minute AFK log-out timer would be terrible. I can see the complaints now “I got up to grab a drink, got logged out for AFK, and now I need to sit in a 2-hour queue again. Thanks Obama.” xD
Oh yeah you’re right. I remember getting out of northshire with my friend who was rolling his lvl 17 rogue. We noticed that the EXP I was receiving was proportionate to the dmg I got to contribute.
We had to split when he realized I was only lvl 2 and had to start killing the lvl 4 defias =]
Both of us have played the game for over 10 years and somehow never noticed that mechanic before. Neither of us considered it was a “new thing” they did.
So yeah, why shouldn’t this apply to dungeons as well as overworld mobs?
I’m fairly sure you do receive lesser experience from having a 60 in your group, it’s just you kill so many so fast that it doesn’t matter. The instance cap does slow some boosting down - but largely doesn’t do much to prevent it.
We don’t care what the majority wants cause what the majority wants is called retail and destroyed this game. And it’s exactly why we wanted vanilla.
A lot of retails players came to play Vanilla cause it seems “cool” or they wanted to try. These people will probably leave soon or go play retail burning crusade when it’s out. It is exactly these people that want boosts to have an easy leveling.
Boosting was not vanilla. And it’s not because it was “possible” in vanilla that it was “fundamentally a part of Classic”. Obviously, people found new tricks and these tricks shouldn’t be protected by the no change mantra. Up to now, Blizzard prove to make changes in phase with Vanilla’s spirit, at least according to me.
If you don’t like vanilla leveling, go play retail. Kikoolol boost to level 159 for zero money.
Leveling in Classic is part of the Classic experiencw… Retail
Leveling in Classic for the 3rd or 4th time sucks for sure. Some might still enjoy it, and for a while it’s fun to play a different class when leveling, but it’s ultimately the same thing repeated. It helps if you make a cross-faction alt - but some people just don’t want to deal with the huge time investment again.
This Warlock was my second 60, and I have a 41 Warrior and 31 Priest - and it’s getting old.
If we are so worried about wasting time, perhaps we shouldn’t be playing an MMO?
Nothing about boosting goes against the, “MMORPG” aspect of WoW. And nothing about being an MMO requires you to waste your time when you could utilize what you’ve achieved (gold) to speed up your progress.
Boosting doesn’t hurt people trying to level by questing.
You’re removing levelers from the open world and from level-appropriate runs. So, yeah, you are. Being boosted frequently involves standing there while someone else does all the work. So, in a sense, a third party is doing the leveling for you.
Farming dungeons from gold is a major reason why we have crazy inflation.
Rather selfish to think that how you like leveling should be how everyone levels - and that people who might want to level faster and spend their gold doing it shouldn’t be allowed to.
Past the original rush to 60, there’s not really many people wanting to do dungeons. Even then, anyone focused on questing will generally skip dungeons anyway.
How would sitting in a 1 hour que for a tank change anything? The only difference would be you don’t have to type lf1m tank every minute then.
The reason boosting became a thing is because groups got sick of waiting for tanks and asked higher lvl friends to run them.
On the contrary, it’s selfish for you to want an easy mode… Especially easy modes that involve exploits, or tactics that could be viewed as such.
I heard all the same crap with the premade nonsense. In the end, we have a lot of lazy, entitled and selfish players breaking the game. Kudos to Blizz for stepping up!
Okay, this is a lot of assumption on your part. I already said that I would boost if I wasn’t too lazy to make gold to pay for it - or if I wasn’t cheap. I don’t boost, I’ve been questing on my 3rd and 4th alts. You should probably not ignore that part.
Second, it’s in no way selfish for players to want to level faster. If you want to level at a slower pace and quest - by all means, do so. The people boosting aren’t going to be competing for tags with you. It is, however, selfish of you to want more people to play how you want so you can have an easier time finding a group for a dungeon - without paying a booster gold to get easy quests done.
Also, it doesn’t involve exploits. Blizzard has yet to actually announce their stance on boosting, but given boosting has been going on for a long time with no action from Blizzard, it’s unlikely that they see it as a problem. So until they do you have no evidence of it being considered exploitative.
Premades still exist, just not in AV. So I’m not sure what you’re actually arguing here.
Let say I am a boosters. Now Boosting is made a bannable offense. Do you now know what happens? I don’t level that alt. I don’t play that alt. That alt will never exist. I wouldn’t suddenly be in the open world and LFG for level-appropriate dungeon runs.
I would instead either not be playing the game or focusing on my main. You know what that means? Farming gold. This makes the inflation happen faster.
You played yourself.
This is also something to consider. Given how long it takes to level an alt the traditional questing way, it’s very likely many people just wouldn’t have that alt at all.
Nice try with the circular logic.
Simply following consequences of one action.
Making Boosting Bannable > No one is boosting > Less people having alts > More people either not playing the game or farming on their mains > More people farming means higher inflation.
