Deliberately instigating anger from other players in BGs because you don’t want to gear is quite petty.
Exactly. SL prepatch pvp is complete dog manure.
I don’t call a game after the first flag cap, and/or initial node captures. And I’ve played enough of these battlegrounds to say with confidence that “most BGs are won or lost in the first few minutes” is hyperbole.
exactly … It’s true that one CAN get a feel for end result based on early data, but anything under the half way point is still pretty much up for grabs. Sometimes it’s just a matter of synching up on the map with the right team mates, then ya get to stomping…
You haven’t played enough games, then.
Usually, the only way the tide turns is if enough bad players leave and some good players get backfilled into the match. Rarely, the two teams are evenly matched at the start and that’s a true match.
I have 1,308 battleground matches logged on this toon. I know what I’m talking about.
That’s it? Son, sit down. Let the adults discuss this.
I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you have more games logged on toons other than the one you’re posting on and have therefore actually played more games than I have.
Assuming you have played more games than I have, saying things like this
is even more disingenuous because you have played enough to know that this is not true.
I’ve played almost 9k BGs on my main character. So I’ve experienced enough to know that most BG’s are won in the first few minutes. Sometimes within the FIRST minute. There are plenty that were a give and take, but they aren’t the norm.
How much of that is solo queue?
Eh i’m 50/50 on it. On one hand I really dont care. It’s non rated casual BGs. let them have fun. On the other hand oh my god how are they even having fun. You just get smacked and do no damage lol. You contribute nothing to the team in most cases and just lose. That cant be fun. But whatever i suppose lol
Very little. I enjoy the company of other people and I find solo queuing boring. So the majority of the time I’m playing with 1 to 4 other people.
Lol dude not even close to true. So many games where the first team battle goes one way and it has zero impact on the game. Half the time the winning team stays mid and just team fights. Overextending to try and take a 4th node instead of playing defense.
The first team fight is an indication of who’s going to win maybe 25% of the time.
Well, there ya go.
Your typical pug has zero interest playing a hard fought win. A fast loss is seen as better than a long win because much of the time you won’t get the long win, but instead you just lose with extra steps.
You’re speaking from personal preference. You don’t want a hard-fought win because you’re not even a PvPer. Like really you’re Honor level 20, that’s 1-2 BGs per month for the past several years lmao.
One can only provide a bit of feedback on forums and then hope and dream.
“You don’t play as much as me so you can’t have an opinion!” will never start being an argument no matter how aggressively you try to push it when we’re talking about feedback and cursory observations. PVP isn’t a tree house, no one’s coming to take your Burger King Crown away, if anything the fact that you literally do nothing but premades and rated BG’s means you are the last person anyone should be talking to because you represent an extreme minority of the community.
Your average PVP pug isn’t interested in hard fought wins. Hard fought wins are an extreme minority. I’ve literally watched BG’s hemmorage half of one team because match making fell asleep at the wheel and had an Alliance pug with people who had 8000 HP and were boosted to max level PVPing against at least one premade in the standard set of optomized HOA’s, legendary cloaks, and optomized azerite gear. People don’t balk at a challenge and they’re usually willing to put some effort in but the minute the other team makes a significant show of force it’s very common for the other team to either give up and lose- hell, the current honor system encourages this behavior- or just outright quit.
I’ve seen wintergrasp games where ten people quit in the span of five minutes because bot syndrome was so awful that all of two people (one being me) were making any effort to defend the towers and suddenly with plenty of time on the clock the Horde on defense had the luxury of turtling for the rest of the game.
It isn’t about playing as much as me. It’s about the fact that you have no experience or perspective to speak from. Really, what PvP have you done? Zero arena achieves, zero RBG achieves, zero PvP meta achieves, Honor 20 over several years of the Honor system being a thing. You’re someone who did a BG once or twice per month in the past 4 years lol. You. Are. Not. A. PvPer.
Would you trust some kid who took a high school first-aid class to tell you how to handle the pandemic? Would you trust some bum who drove a go-kart once to tell you state driving laws? Would you trust some scrub who got a 2:1 K/D in CoD to tell you how to handle guns? No. Why would anyone care what someone who did a BG once last month has to say about PvP? Answer, they don’t.
I have more BGs played in a single map than you do in all maps across your whole account combined. And 90% of them are solo. Now sit down.
You.
You don’t want hard-fought wins. Because:
Here, this subforum is more relevant to your experience in this game

I exclusively solo que. Both factions. Zero issues, sounds like a you problem.
Based on…what?
I’m giving an opinion based on my experiences. If yours are different, then great. But out of all the BGs I’ve seen, I can tell within the first minute or few which side has the BG on lock. Just saying ‘lol no’ isn’t going to sway my experiences.
