No. Hunters who don’t name their pets should be shamed. Everytime I see “Bear” “Spider” “Cat” I die a little inside.
Those animals are out there fighting and dying for you! Give them names!

Eots is like temple. It’s won or lost in the first few minutes. It’s a meat grinder and doesn’t require the same skill or knowledge as say arathi or wsg. And because it’s a meat grinder gear is a factor. You throw 80-90% of your team vs 80-90% of another team on a narrow bridge…gear kinda matters. Naturally there are really cool ways to win eots by not going
Mid but come on…this isn’t rbgs we are taking about.
It’s kind of common sense. Would u jump into a raid with 10k health? Nooo. But pvp is ok? Like what are peoples expectations ?
On the flip side situations like this can ruins someone’s experience who’s trying new aspects of the game. Don’t gotta be a huge d bag about all this. Just say “dude run some mythics, free loot. I’ll go with ya” I know someone in my guild who it took a long time to convince to try pvp again after having an experience like this. So words matter. Help them don’t be a giant nut job

Bring back creatable resilience gear from professions like blacksmith.
Then honor gear
then conquest gear.
then rank 1800 arena gear.

It’s different now but a fresh to 120 character could get better gear than entry level dungeons, mythic+ or world quests by doing PVP. Win or lose they always at least had a chance of getting an upgrade.
Now? Conquest still gives 100-115.
Shamed? Def not. But its always painful when all of your healers have 5-6k hp after priest and food buffs.

They don’t deserve to be shamed. However, it’s Blizzard’s fault for being to lazy to implement an MMR system. On top of the fact that the PvP gear rewards are so terrible.
It’s really a greater problem with Blizzard than it is with a toxic playerbase.
Why do you want an mmr system for randoms when there is rated that has an mmr system?
maybe because people can benefit from it either way.
Wasn’t that gear scaled to ilvl? The air supply chest gear was.
40cp a day for first random win x 12.5 days doesn’t sound like anybody would gear up fast or easy. And you don’t get 115 gear until months if you’re doing 1 turn in a week, which is more than your “bg gearing” program would get them.
I wouldn’t say it’s that uncommon.

It’s no exaggeration to say that the people with 20k hp make or break the teams. Obviously, gear isn’t the only deciding factor in this game but it really helps with one person on your team is worth 5 of theirs.
it’s like joining a low level wsg and seeing 4 or 5 hunters. You’re not guaranteed to lose. But it’s really unlikely you’ll enjoy the bg / get to play your character without dying from 40 yards.
Because nobody plays RBGs. It’s a pain to put together a premade group. If there was a system similar to LoL then you would probably see a lot more players participate in RBGs.
MMR to get matched with players of a similar skill/gear level. Stricter punishment for players leaving or giving up. Separate ratings/queues for premades and solo queue. Allow both factions to be grouped together, to decrease queue times and create better balance.
ugh, no, no MMR for PUG games. League of Legends is a guide book for how not to implement a PVP system.
Yeah no. I purposely go in to bgs in undergeared toons just to piss people off. From Cata to Legion I never had to set foot in a dungeon or raid in order to be competitive in pvp, I just did random bgs and 2s with my awful mage friend. If i cant have a free set of BIS pvp gear in less than a week like I did in Mists or WOD I’m just gonna troll all the people who wasted their time grinding azerite essence and mythic dungeons because it’s not worth my time catching up to them and they dont belong in my bgs. Give me back bis pvp gear and free last season gear from bgs or I’m just gonna keep ruining your bgs with my army of fresh level 50s, /laughing and /spitting on anyone who complains about my gear. I didn’t even want to hit level cap because of this garbage but the xp in bgs is way too high when you win. Put the dragonslayers back were they belong and give me my free pvp gear already.

How is MMR for PUGs any worse than what we have now? LoL MMR isn’t perfect but it’s better than nothing. RBG scene is completely dead right now. Even BGs to a lesser degree.
At least MMR would give you something a little closer to a fair match and force people to put in a little more effort. It would create some competitiveness. Bots, undergeared players, and people who don’t try will get filtered to the bottom.

Losses are far more tolerable when there’s no long term consequences for them. Adding a rating system now means that everyone who isn’t playing to win is actually playing against you.
Now consider your average PUG.
Soulbleeder is right. Actually he’s only partially right, most BGs are won or lost in the first few minutes, and most are won or lost due to gear.
