Yesssssss!
I was thinking of how this could work… Like wiping the map and updating everything and portals just leading to the different xpac zones.
But I like your idea better lol.
Newzeroth and Oldzeroth.
The big issue with the maps is they’ve majorly written themselves into a corner with all the new damn continents
You’d have to write them all vanishing into a mist again or the continents reforming into the og super continent after azeroth wakes up…
Oooooooor something I’d love to have. We get teleported into the past from the power surge of azeroth’s awakening. I’m talking pre sundering. We get to experience all the old history and the final expac of the series would be the sundering which then sends us back into the present and met with NEWZEROTH lol.
We need Updated zone see what effect have happen, New plot zombie and Let be honest… Cata zombies are outdate… and not in good touch and dose not reflect what happening in morden day wow
We need uptouch and up bring of what morden world of WoW look like with allied races in town, New towns and place be at, New questlines
Unfortunately that would require a full revamp of the game. We have too many zones and continents. They need to refresh everything to have something to design leveling around.
Ever since they launched Classic in 2019 this has been the elephant in the room. We got the old world back in some form, so the next step would be to incorporate it into retail. They’ve already kinda started this with the addition of old Scholomance.
yea it would, which is why i specified after the last titan. it would be a herculean effort for sure. but imo its extremely important for the long term health of the game.
Tbh thats why I think throwing us back in time is a good solution. So we can come back to a revamp.
Gives them a few years. We can backseat azeroth for them to fully flesh everything out.
But I also think if they bother to put that much effort into leveling-only content at this stage in WoW’s life that they probably need to include some kind of New Game+ system or at least leveling challenges (as in, scaling difficulty of some kind – hardcore is meaningless with the existing difficulty) to make participating in that content actually engaging for players who have been with this game for, you know, decades.
It’s not good enough to just design for people who have never touched an MMORPG before anymore. That can be the baseline, but we need something else to justify putting dev time into that part of the game now.
Yes. A billion times yes. The world is so static before modern expansion zones. It took us like a decade to find out a tiny portion of what Anduin accomplished as king, and that was through a one-time heritage quest.
I just want to see what Westfall, Duskwood, and Redridge look like today. How has the world actually moved on since the Cataclysm?
That, and I’m an RPer, so I’m desperate for the one hub people use to look like an actual Boralus-tier city. Stormwind is so outdated.
Ya, at least get rid of the weird whirlwinds and stuff and people who are alive that should be dead/burning stuff that’s on fire and also like… do something about the multiple Teleport/Portal: Dalaran spells out there that don’t make temporal sense. Like, DalNorthrend could be a little tower that got erected that the portals re-route you to, DalBI could be… wrings hands, groans …and so on.
I am, at least in areas it matters. Mainly the zones that need to get the memo that Deathwing died about 12 years ago. They don’t need to revamp the entire world, but there’s a number of zones that would benefit from an update.
