Do People Still Hate Augmentation Evoker?

I really dislike it for being a pseudo-mandatory slot and kinda bad in solo play, as expected.
I wouldn’t mind it as much, if we had, like, at least 6 other “support” specs.

Basically that, but the opposite lol

MoP Demo was IMHO the best spec WoW ever had. Nothing will ever compare.

Plus I play a Demon, so Demon Hunters are my natural enemies. I reckon deer would feel like that towards deer hunters if deer had the brainpower to understand the concept of a deer hunter lol

Were not demons and neither are you, were night/blood elves who harness the power of the enemy demons and contain it within us to use their powers for good. And we only had enemies of the legion. Now we just play hero like dks.

I know, I’m not saying you are a Demon. I’m saying I am a Demon. A Man’ari Eredar, to be more precise. And you are a Demon Hunter.

Demon Hunters hunt me, my friends, my family, my pets and my loved ones.

So I might not be terribly happy about that lol

Auggy are mostly meant for ppl with the support mindset, main support roles in games in general and simply like to contribute to the team without the fuss of worrying about big numbers or keeping ppl alive etc etc.

In short if you are a team play oriented person, this is a spec that would suit you to a tee. If you are a dps play who only want to worry about how much you are doing, you would naturally be turned off by playing this spec.

To be exact thought, your not a demon either. Your a draenei who accepted fel and became red skinned. You were part of the legion. You were just another alien species collected into the army for Sargeras.

It’s actually a horrible situation. Every other dev and Preservation main is constantly requested to be aug or they are a waste of space. very oppressive spec for the people who chose to main it before aug was released. I’d actually be fine for it to be deleted, but blizzard isn’t going to do that. It’s either nerf nerf nerf, or rework it until what makes it so good is gone.

For those who are against the deletion or a vast rework of the spec, I have yet to see an aug player with a good understanding of the spec that actually is having a lot of fun. You’re playing weakaura management the game, and maybe looking at some graphs and spreadsheets if you’re tryharding your buff windows.

Nah, I’m a Demon.

In Warcraft a Demon is basically any being that’s saturated with Fel Magic. Some Demon species are natural, others are mortals converted by an infusion of Fel Magic, but ultimately they are all Demons.

There are quite a few sources in-game stating that the playable Man’ari are Demons.

Arzaal (the leader of the Man’ari who joined the Alliance) and his NPC allies are classified as a Demon in the game.

And during the questline to unlock Man’ari Draenei, you get aditional dialog optionals that refer to Arzaal as a Demon depending on your character race.

“Your master’s deception nearly doomed my people, demon.” (Orc only)

“Many of our people died because of you, demon.” (Draenei only)

Finally, in the Draenei Heritage Armor questline, there’s a huge party at the end with pretty much every Draenei NPC ever, and you get to talk to them. When you ask Akama about the Penitents (the playable Man’ari Draenei), he also calls them Demons.

“What do you think of the Penitents?”

The loyalties of demons are fleeting. Sometimes, that can be useful.

I have known some demons to serve the Illidari, fighting against their former Legion masters. I am not surprised that some man’ari would also turn on the hand that fed them.

Watch them closely.

I can’t speak for players who are playing SoD but I have to :100: agree. Warlocks Dark Apotheosis (Warlock Meta) and even the other spec gameplay was peak fun for me too. (IMO)

Also the name was epic too! In the fantasy setting “Apotheosis” is often use as a term for ascension to godhood or Demon God in this instance lol. I felt I reach my endgame as a Warlock finally reaching the goal of Ultimate Powaaaaaaah! (lol joking but you get the idea)

lol I remember quitting when it was change for imps riding dogs hahah I was so upset at that time… if they have not added DH I probably never look back.

Although I saw and read that one of the Hero Spec coming for Warlocks give you something similar to Dark Apotheosis with retail and modern VFX… It look good in Alfa I thought… or was it in Beta… sorry I can’t remember been trying to avoid spoilers so I can get more engage discovering the changes, as I play when expansion is out.

Just been glancing the Hero Talents from time to time just to decide who to play as my main… but it’s been really hard not to get spoil.

Literally the only time I see an augmentation evoker in pvp is when it is on a premade group in random battlegrounds.

If you got a close-knit group of friends or a premade guild to play with, augment is fun and rewarding. But don’t think playing one alone as an alt will bring the same joy.

Since I figured out the learning curve (granted not a huge one), I’ve been having a blast on my Augvoker. Really it’s just a matter of keeping an eye on who you buffed, how long you have left before you reapply the buffs and doing some insane damage along the way. No different from other classes, really.

Thats fair, but you lack one ability the true demons do I think(or had before legion happened). and that was the ability to be reborn on Argus after being killed.

That’s because Aug is overpowered. Great for people who have one in the team. Horrible for everyone else.

That’s a huge problem.

Delete it, turn it into a “buff spec” like Enhancement Shaman (i.e. not really a buff spec at all), or nerf it to the ground - remove all the utility, make it only increase DPS, and have the Aug’s DPS lowered by exactly the same amount, so that there’s zero benefit to bringing one.

I personally despise Aug because I am a Dev main. The amount of times I get asked “can you swap to aug?” makes me want to do a rank 5 fire breath on amirdrassil

Well, players of all Races and Classes are respawned almost instantly when we die anyway, regardless of mortality status, so I think that’s just one of those cases of “gameplay / lore dissonance”.

I reckon my character would respawn in the Twisting Nether after death… if the game took death seriously lol

You would have possibly prior to legion. But after argus was defeated, and the engine shut down essentially, no demons will respawn now I believe. Death is death for them.

According to Blizzard, Demons still respawn in the Nether. But now it’s a much slower and less convenient process.

Sylvanas’ novel confirms this, stating Sargeras was dissatisfied with how much time it took for Demons to resurrect, so the Nathrezim suggested infusing a World-Soul with Death Magic to create a “resurrection engine” that would make the process much faster.

That’s just a thing about Magic creatures in general. They are all connected to their “magic realm”, and if killed outside of it, they return to their home realm and reform there. A Demon will respawn in the Shadowlands, a Fire Elemental will respawn in the Firelands, a Shadowlad will respawn in the Shadowlands, etc

It’s an actual crime that this was done for a specific class & spec instead of rolling more support-like abilities into all healers. Give them something to do besides 5% of the group’s damage output when dedicating every spare GCD to feebly do that.
