Do People Still Hate Augmentation Evoker?

Thinking about swapping to Evoker and playing augmentation evoker for the war within. In season 2 of dragonflight I was dissuaded from playing it because there were people going around kicking and griefing augmentation evokers because they felt the support class was taking spots from every other dps and there generally wanted the spec deleted. In short, I didn’t want to deal with any toxicity even if it was a valued spec for those that didn’t care.

What’s the verdict now? Are people more calm about it’s existence now?

Idk, I still despise it. Had my hopes up for a tank spec and don’t care about high tiered content, but a season of “why aren’t you Aug? haven’t you tried Aug? Ugh, this key would be over already if you were Aug” made me not wanna play evoker.

Aug is not my favorite. It’s easy to play, but difficult to master. And I’m bored senseless trying to play it.

Well augmentation evoker is currently still slotted for 2 raid slots for the “perfect” raid comp and augmentation evoker is still likely going to be very good for M+. The people you are playing with will love you. Non-meta dps that think the specs existence takes their slot? Not so much.

I have no reason to hate an augmentation evoker.
In fact I’d be happy to invite one over for tea.

People in higher keys love it, people in raiding are mixed.

Low keys where people suck, they just try to blame aug for their being bad. Anyone who has two brain cells likes all the utility and defensive options aug brings.

If you enjoy it, just play it.

I play an evoker. I do some M+ as augmentation on it - my friends love it. I way prefer devastation. I won’t be doing any more M+ (friends stopping M+) but we might do some delves as a group and augmentation would be great then. I have tried it on beta - it is doing really good dps - it feels closer to dps + support now.

In my experience, the better someone knows how to play aug, the more they dislike playing it.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen an aug with cutting edge say they enjoy playing it.

The pasttime of every good aug in M+ is complaining on discord about playing aug.

If you hop on coms and the aug doesn’t hate their spec it’s honestly a red flag xD

I still don’t care for it even though I’ve tried to like it. I just don’t like to be a mid ranged caster that can’t always move while casting. I still hope we get more support specs/classes but for now I won’t play it. I do enjoy when other people play them though.

Aug in M+ = Easy Mode with good players, absolutely useless with bad ones
Aug in Raid = Prepare your spreadsheets difficulty
Aug in Solo = Just play Devastation

I am not really a fan of Augmentation as I prefer having a bit more agency in how things go and I’ve done double or even triple-dragon parties, though I do hate the public perception of Aug vs Dev since I’ve encountered people that thought Zephyr was Aug-only (it’s on the General tree for all Evokers) or thought it was stronger for Aug (which is false).

People who blindly look at damage meters with minimal undestanding of how Augvoker works will think that the spec is bad.

Bad news for the people who hate Aug - they’re looking absolutely broken on PTR - so prepare for a 4th season in a row of Aug being meta

If you enjoy a support class then it’s good! It plays a lot like the devastation spec so it’s easy to learn.

Aug is a spec that feels like it was made for me; I get to help make everyone else better at whatever it is they’re trying to do and no one with a brain complains about the DPS I put out.

It is painful when the other DPS has less IQ then teeth though.
