Do People Still Hate Augmentation Evoker?

The kind of frustrating thing too is, because of the nature of the specific design Aug falls under, its inevitable that it gets a lot more nerfed and at least somewhat reworked into something more about personal damage then buffing. Simply because the nature of a buff bot is one that forces the game its in to nerf everything else to legitimize its own existence.

Happened in FF14, sounds like it happened in GW2, and sounds like its happening in League of Legends as well (e.g. Yuumi).

So until then, Aug exists in an always-optimal choice state, Dev/Pres players will have to deal with pestering (primarily while pugging) to swith Aug

Yeah the feel of requiring chatting times of CDs and almost needing a spreadsheet to coordinate max output… not for me

You are assuming’s blizz’s vision of a healer = a support spec. It’s clear it’s not.

A healer is a healer. Simple as that. They focus on mending and making sure ppl remain alive via their buttons.

A support spec ensure their teammates gets to perform better of whatever their role are supposed to be doing . So they have a bit of everything but nth to focus on. They are just there throwing spells to make that happen. Again, if you are a support oriented player, it’s likely big numbers of any sort is ur not ur personal metrics. You just like to play a role without worrying too much about numbers and just making the most out of your role.

Beside it’s not like they dun have an option to go a pure healing or dps role, if they so chooses to?

You should wait and see if Blizz does dungeon tuning. If they follow through with removing spike damage and one shots Augmentation will be much less valuable.

I’d argue that Aug is only as good as the team that it’s attatched to; Like the reason why it does well in high end content is because it’s making top tier players better.

The flip side though, is that if you’re in a pug with lower end players Aug becomes very, very bad; I’ve been in groups where the other DPS didn’t do mechanics properly and as a result boss fighs went way longer then they would have if I’d been playing as say… an Arms warrior with 5 less ILVL.

As a result the

Is omnipresent in a lot of casual groups in that you can’t reliably carry with your DPS no matter how geared you personally are.

I think the larger problems with the spec in high end content are twin guardians and shifting sands buffing Vers instead of just damage / healing.

Part of the catch with this is that while the Verse buff is great… I don’t think people who complain about aug understand how much of an investment it is; Like the RoI for Mastery is absolutely brutal with soft caps heavily limiting how much can be put into it (7209 mastery gets me… 16.33%) and while I could could maybe get that up and around 20% If I was good enough to compete at the 1% level, the flip side is that the rest of my stats are low.

Heck, I just looked up the #2 Aug and they had a 19% with 8600 Mastery. If this was any other spec you’d be looking at upwards of +40% to haste or crit.

I don’t like doing anything over a 12 without one tbh.

I think this is what partially turned me off halfway through DF to playing keys with my Evoker. Everyone constantly asking. I pull out great DPS as Devastation and enjoy it. Why do I HAVE to use the shiny new thing when we are doing casual keys under +20 (Season 2/3 at the time). Just bummed me out.
