I’ve actually been listening to Viking / war Viking music while playing WoW.
It’s pretty sweet tbh.

I tend to like the older stuff too, especially from artists that have a message in their lyrics such as Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Tupac, Biggie etc. J Cole is also really good for a newer artist. I guess I am getting old!
I can’t stand them anymore. I think I listened to them so much growing up so when they come on I’m just like bleh.
Now they just annoy me.
I can understand that. Too much of anything can wear on you after a while.
Run The Jewels.
Snow Tha Product.
Spark Master Tape.
Watsky.
Just cuz it ain’t at the forefront don’t mean it ain’t there.
This dude knows what’s up. RTJ1 and 2 are two of my favorite albums and RTJ1 is basically has no bad songs on it.
Most music now a days is garbage. We know this is true, because most music from all time has been garbage. Most people only know the “greatest hits”, and judge everything by them.
But, yeah, music now a days is lazy and terrible.
i’m gorl.
Actually w/e, I find “dude” to be gender-neutral anyway…
RTJ4 slaps furiously. I would be hard pressed to pick an RTJ album out of the bunch, they’re all just so good.
Also, the Thundercat record that came out earlier this year is amazing, even if it’s not hip hop/rap.
I don’t know my dad is 72 and he been liking top 40 pop radio lately like Post MAlone ,Jonas Brothers, Halsey ect. and every time I’m in his Avalanche and the radio is playing I’m thinking just shoot me please .
most, well a lot of music went into the crapper with the fall of various music + record/cd industries
but there’s good stuff out there and (some) spoken-word rhymes will always be awesome
there’s always a lot of crap, skip over it and find the good
Yes yes
But I have to admit the last one Hardwired wasn’t bad and maybe their first decent one since And Justice
You’re the second person to say that. I’ll have to check it out.
I actually went and saw them on that tour.
It was great I was so close to one of the pyrotechnics that when it went off when they were doing the battle sounds for the opening for One I could feel the heat.
Iwas like YESSSSSSS
Go with something real like Tech N9ne and/or Krizz Kaliko. There is actually some real depth there.
This why i don’t use words like “Boomer” or “Zoomer” to describe stuff. This just gave me a chuckle for how silly this comment is because of that.
Music tends to be generational a lot of the time so the period you grow up in has a large impact on your musical tastes and interests. Some people can appreciate music from multiple generations and in fact, I think most can even if it is just limited to a few songs here and there. We are social animals by nature so bonding over music certainly is a thing we do as a species.
Myself, I am an old Prog dude that grew up in the era of Pink Floyd. I have no idea why, nor do I really care to analyze it, but much of their music (everything after Meddle excluding The Final Cut) cuts to my very soul. While they are far, far, and away my favorite, I still hear modern music that interests me. I do have a rap song in my playlist “No Church in the Wild”. I remember hearing it somewhere and that beat just grabbed my attention and refused to let go so I did not let it.
I am probably a rarity though in that lyrics are almost meaningless to me. I am into music for the musicality, the sonic experience, the beat, the melody. Vocals are typically just background to me but if a song grabs me, I will eventually listen to the lyrics enough to memorize them and sometimes even appreciate them as well. Music, imo, is one of the things that goes into the “Pro” list of our species and while some genres are not necessarily my thing I will never criticize them as it is up to each of us to find the music that resonates with our individual tastes.
THing is I blame that down fall period on Motley Crue’s Dr Feelgood album ( and that is one of my favorite Crue albums).
Metallica the haters of all things hair metal for some reason liked that one and was impressed with the work and got it’s producer to produce every album from Black to St. Anger then for Death Magnetic the got Rick (Bleeping Def Jam) Ruben to produce.
I was never like that .
I was I’m shooting for 80 and being shot by the jealous husband of a hot 25 year old
