I really do think that if we see a change in our set up times, we will see our viability increase greatly.

would you blame the issue more on spreading wounds around or too much gcd?

I did a +13 Motherlode last night. The overall feeling was good for an UH DK. I consistently was #1 on boss fights (fortified week), and trash packs I was doing around 30k-40k on most packs that are 3-4 mobs a pack. Reaping, I had a couple 100k+ packs.

With that said. The other dps in my group were really lack luster for a +13, especially on packs. This just reinforces my discussion on another thread that our AoE cleave is really top tier WHEN we have the time to set it up. If the other 2 dps in my group played the cleave game better (DH, Lock, Outlaw Rogue, Warrior, etc… etc…) then my cleave dps goes down dramatically due to the fact their damage/time is significantly greater than ours.

Yep same I rune epidemic as my only AOE spell and use it when i’m running out of stuff most the time. Depending on what weak it is and if I need to put more dps in to the boss or not but i still end up being the top cleave most the time. Setting up the AOE if i was going to only use festering Wounds makes it hard, so i stack Festering might and then burn my epidemic at full runic power. Any opener on single target in M+ I can open up with 45k and hold at 30k - 36k easy with army up. Problem I run into is BOD there is little to no cleave and find myself running off the end of the world to kill add halfway across the room and not die.

Wounds do sh!t damage… the only benefit we get from popping wounds single target, is building our Festermight… But that is a discussion for another topic/time as changing this damage effects our AoE capability too.

To fix our single target damage, I gave a couple great ideas.
Remove Army of the Damned, bake it into Harbinger of Doom.
Create new Tier 100 Talent, Every minion you summon during Apocolypse/Army of the Dead increases your overall damage by 10% for 2 seconds. Each minion summoned increases duration by 2 seconds.

To fix our AoE setup times. Remove DnD from GCD…

Wounds do sh!t damage… the only benefit we get from popping wounds single target, is building our Festermight… But that is a discussion for another topic/time as changing this damage effects our AoE capability too.

even with bursting sores? IMO taking dark transformation off the GCD and making it last 30 seconds instead of 15 and taking infected claws with bursting sores might make for good cleave dps where epidemic currently falls short. (epi is better for large pulls, 10+ probably)

eh, i still woudn’t take it, baking army of the damned into harbinger is a good idea, but unholy frenzy is just too good to not take outside of the very rare patchwerk style fight.

That would feel so weird tho. No global on a targetted ability? There’s no example of that ever existing before. None that i can think of anyway. And pls dont tell me you have dnd macroed to drop on yourself.

Taking DT off the global is what id like to see.

Bursting sores is only good for cleave due to the fact that the damage being done is multiplicative to all the mobs. The more mobs, the more damage.

with either defile or dnd off the GCD it would very much become an ST spell, being able to sneak 1 rune’s worth of damage and RP generation in between GCDs would be worth it.

of course, you are giving up one thing for another, thats how talents work, i give up sustained aoe for burst aoe with unholy blight. there is no reason you can’t carry the group on AoE and then let someone else carry the ST on boss fights.

it’s effective enough in pvp, which is what i use it for. pve use i just keep in mind what it’s damage curve is and when to best apply it, but in case you are wondering, my ST spec is 2213232

10% for 2sec and 2 sec for every minion summoned is asking abit much. I get our army is supposed to be a nuke but not a tsar bomb. I think it would be better for maybe a 3-5% increase baseline for For minions and a 10sec duration. It should help but still won’t cover the main problem that AOTD is the main power house next to our ghoul doing 40-60% of all dmg done.

I love my blood DK, but yes the damage output is poor. Be able to tank is good plus extra stamina I wasn’t aware of. So I just have to do what I can to survive out there while soloing, not sure if dungeons will make it unless I have a good healers backing me up. Random dungeons seem to hurt when they don’t heal you and that is why I don’t do random dungeons anymore unless I find players that willing do their parts, least you know them.

@lepermessiah- get your haste up if you want more rune regeneration.

I always run with might heirlooms as that’s their main stat, with a truesilver sword (or bloodied arcanite with the autoattack heirloom on left)

Haven’t had a issue with runes since learning that haste includes rune regeneration speed
