DK Red Eyes Option

Is there some hidden movement im not aware of i know of wraithwalk and the one that has two charges dont remember the name (purple skull ability)

As someone with each class at 70 who runs dungeons and raids for mounts and mogs dk and priest are always the slowest. They have mobility abilities but they arent good for moving from place to place.

Idk why u keep responding with its just agile. Double dashing gets u far, double leap gets u far. All the ones i listed get you far.

If im missing something and u seem to play only dk let me know casue id love to clear those dungeons faster.

Deaths Advance, and it also gives you a speed boost for the first 3 seconds if you talent into it. Even if you dont talent into Wraith Walk there is no reason why you should be the last one in battle.

Priest also has a speed boost when you use Shield on yourself, along with Angelic Feather to where you can zoom through places.

Im also not seeing double heroic leap anywhere unless its something with arms.

I’ve had the “DKs are a slow class” discussion at extreme length with Kelliste before. From what I recall they mean over longer distances DKs become middle of the pack in speed. Like if a Warrior, Paladin and DK line up and run a thousand yards the DK will win that race. (Assuming all mobility talents are taken.)

What they didn’t seem to grasp back then or now is that most people are referring to mobility over medium to short distance. As in DK has a harder time getting out of mechanics or closing distances with the mobility they have.

The value of burst mobility in timing keys and kiting in pvp cant be understated and you definitely feel slower than other specs if you have consistent mobility like a DK instead of burst.

Personally I am usually ahead of my teammates in keys on my DK but it is entirely because I put in way more effort by planning and preposition for movement.

Its no harder than Paladin. If a paladin can get out of mechanics then so can the DK. Warrior only has leap to get out so if that isnt available they are slower than a DK and most warriors dont take Intervene for some reason.

Also, a lot of people were saying that Eonar was impossible on a DK yet the guide uses a DK for soloing purposes. I also never used Wraith Walk, just DA with the talent. You get out with time to space, a lot of time to spare actually. Warrior only has leap with a burst of speed at the end of it. So they can go to a crystal (I think thats what they were) then leave start channeling another, get a small movement speed and then the rest is just regular movement speed for the last 2. Its much slower on a warrior than a DK and the space isnt that large. There just isnt anything to charge to so warrior mobility is cut down extremely.

No one is really going to be able to touch Monk or DH. There is just way too much movement on those classes that needs to be toned down. Ever level and get a monk tank? Every single class struggles to keep up. Doesnt matter who it is and you dont even get to fight anything. Its the worst experience in the game.

So realistically the DK is somewhere in the middle and probably the best plate wearer in terms of out of combat mobility. Its not the fastest mobility, but its also not the slowest. Mobility is also a huge dps increase. It cant really be measured but if you are having issues then taking mobility talents will absolutely help. Ive had people say DK had no mobility options to speak of acting like its just a forever slowed piece of junk which I ask why play it? And why should others play it if people are just going to complain and lie about the kit?

This reads like a refutation but only says things that agree with me. I think you are still missing the point.

Charge counts as mobility in the context most players are talking about when they compare. Like the ability to move away from dream rifts on Fyrakk to avoid damage and maintain uptime. A dk will lose more uptime than any other class to mechanics like that.

Doing old mechanics intended for multiple players isn’t relevant to the general perception of mobility, and the distance between all of the crystals is what I would call the low end of long distance.

Like I said only In longer distances but people are referring to distances that you would cover in end game encounters. Like singular mechanics that require more movement than a simple dodge, moving from one pack to the next in keys or breaking/maintaining LOS/Melee Range in PVP. To use the example of Fyrakk’s Dream Rend again the warrior can leap and charge and then be sure to have them both back up by the next time its needed. Where as a dk has to pre position to make sure they only take roughly 5 seconds to cover the gap. (depending on boss positioning.) Assuming equal skill with movement and positioning the DK will take the longest of any class to resolve that mechanic. Same goes for pack to pack engagements in M+.

The general conversation doesn’t cares about out of combat unmounted speed. Almost any time a distance in end game content is long enough that a DK will outpace the other “Slow” specs you are likely to be able to mount. The only example that I can think of off the top of my head are a couple times in Halls of Infusion and Neltharus. 9/10 times in any key a warriors and paladin mobility should be able to outpace a DK if used correctly.

Nothing you have said about mobility is wrong. I think you’ve just missed the forest for the trees and don’t understand what everyone else is talking about.
I’m going to assume its because you don’t engage in the forms of content that would make that context evident.
No this isn’t a dig at your player skill. It is literally just a charitable observation.

You know that’s a good point, there does seem to be indication we’re going back to Northrend as part of this trilogy. Would be a good time to do some cool stuff for the death knights.

I wonder too if, since the panda remix seems to have been very popular, if they do a version of it for Wrath. A fun leveling set up, and way for us to be reminded of the story (or an introduction for people who didn’t play back then) before expansion that focuses on a new story in that area launches

If they intend to do a lot of work in wrath having a time running for it to catch people up on the events would be a really good idea. Whole lot of players nowadays that never played wrath.

Aw that can’t be too many people! I mean after all it only came out… 16… years…. ago.

Oh. Oh no. turns into dust

They just had Wrath Classic. They will do WoD or Legion before they would go back to Wrath.

Why not timerunning Wrath? Classic is an entirely different game, to the point of having it’s own install and game files on your computer. It doesn’t really interact with retail.

Why would people download a new game, make a character they won’t interact with beyond this, slog their way through classic vanilla and burning crusade, just to play a mostly empty classic Wrath in which their odds of seeing the stories in dungeons and raids would probably be near zero.

Timerunning is just a mode of retail, characters and players using modern systems they’re familiar with. It’s quick, you can see all the dungeons and raids with relative ease, the character can join your roster at the end of the event, and there’s oodles, kadoodles, and toaster strudels of rewards in the form of mounts, pets, toys, and armor and weapon transmogs.

Then there’s this. The primary story of Mists dealt with the Sha, tainted void remnants of a slain Old God. And the Lich Kings plan in Wrath was to make the world Scourge, and thus nigh invulnerable to void influence and corruption. WoD had nothing to do with Void, Old Gods, or the Titans. Legion touched on Titans and Void, but only as side story.

If the purpose is to see the content and be reminded of the story, that just happened.

In class mechanics not in content.

What do you mean why would they? They already did. This has already passed and they are on Cataclysm now. Around 600k people were raiding at the start of Wrath Classic so the overall population was probably around 1m or a little more.

It wasnt quick. It was actually quicker to level in retail. Not to mention the bugs. I made it to level 17 and quit MoP remix because my toon lost everything. Everything from the gear, to the cloak, to the actual bags. You either had to do a character restore by deleting it and restoring it, or just starting over.

They wont be doing Wrath again. They would definitely go for WoD or Legion. They didnt do MoP for any old god stuff, it was just something for people to have fun with “fun” get insane numbers and get some transmog. Its 1000% easier to do transmog runs now with Warbands. Anyone class can unlock the skin if you dont have it. Pallies can unlock warlocks, warlocks can unlock rogue, rogue can unlock Shaman, doesnt matter.

imagine playing a San’layn without red eyes

The vast majority of the San’layn dont have red eyes in the first place. I think only 1 Blood Prince had red eyes.

Official artwork from blizzard has a few with red eyes and some with black others with green.

Havent seen any with blue tho

Blood Queen Lana’thel

There are a lot of them actually.

Can u name a few then cause im having a hard time finding them. I dont see any of the three leaders of the san’layn with blue eyes from what ive read online and all the updated models ive seen of them dont have blue eyes either.

All of the San’layn in the Blood Wing of ICC aside from the Blood Princes and Lana’thel who are all dead. Along with the only red eyed Blood Prince.

San’layn doesnt mean you have red eyes just like Darkfallen doesnt mean red eyes either.

By the time midnight is wrapping up wrath classic will have been out for close to 4 years and over for around 2. (Realistically longer as not many people would have stayed on after killing the LK a few time.) Even people who played it will have forgotten a lot.

Also a significant number of people who could use a wrath story introduction aren’t going to be the people that played Wrath Classic because they like retail and probably don’t enjoy the gameplay of the much older slower game.

Huh? Entire game modes have been added and content has more than double in complexity since wrath. Do you mean bosses still do all the staple mechanics they did in wrath?
Maybe its perspective but content has clearly changed since Wrath from where I’m sitting.

Thats an outdated raid idk if they just did that cause they made dks and didnt want to just add extra work for trash mobs. Sanlayn themselves that got special models all have different eye colors yellow, purple, green, red and black from what ive seen. But again no blues.

They might just be darkfallen since they do work with the sanylan and some dark fallen are dks which at the moment have blue eyes.

Then everything is outdated. Thats not how this works though.

The majority yellow. And not a lot of the art on Google is official Blizzard art and just fanfic.

They are Darkfallen. As far as I know there is no non-elf San’layn so they are just all Darkfallen. Any Elf DK is also a Darkfallen since Darkfallen just means undead elf.

Red eyes for the scourge / undead are really reserved for the Dark Rangers and Banshees, blue for DK’s, yellow is mostly for fodder like the Forsaken were.
