Dishonorable kills should be removed or adjusted

Nah, I’m just not trying to fix history. Save that for the next MMO.

I don’t care either way to be completely honest… but having experienced this system for years… I have to say I am surprised blizzard is implementing DHKs .

They’re doing it because that’s what Vanilla had. How many PServers did away with it?

So true. If anything they should add a massive bonus TEMPORARY Buff to the NPC’s that are killed (will increase every subsequent kill in a day).

I’d say about half I’ve played on have had them and half had it turned off

Buff DHK to grey level players

But it’s nice to have the option and not be doomed to never climb the ranks

No. You just have to ask yourself one question:

Was it in vanilla?

Well… was it, punk?

It was Vanilla. DHK is the change.

If it wasnt we wouldnt be getting the first PvP patch without DHK.

Do you want to make that change?

If I’m not mistaken the vanilla honor system didn’t exist without DHKs. I’d say an honor system without DHKs would be a much bigger change.

DHK was not launched with the PvP system.
It was a change.

But it was in 1.12. Whatever the case, won’t stop me from playing Classic.

That’s why I cannot wait for the game to come out and people to still be here. The red line in the sand has been crossed so many times for people and yet they still find themselves here.

“I won’t be playing if they don’t have a separate subscription.”

Classic has same sub

“Well, I won’t be playing unless it’s 1.12 AV!”

Classic has 1.12 AV

“Ok fine, if you guys include DHKs I’m gone!”

Has DHKs

“Ok yeah, well if you don’t do this I swear I’m gone.”

It’s just turning into empty threats of leaving.

Not saying they shouldn’t be in but after getting busted back down to rank 10 from a DHK that someone in my group did, not even myself I stopped pvping in cities. I still make the wife feel bad for that one … lol

I’m happy for Dishonourable Kills to remain in the game. I remember them being a part of my Vanilla experience and I don’t see why that should change.

I may not agree with everything you post, and all of your opinions, but I do feel that the Classic community would be diminished if you were to give it up.

It’s almost like these people are just looking for any excuse to justify continuing to play on pservers.

Well i don’t know anything about private servers, but wouldn’t surprise me if people who are telling advocating av 1.12 are trying to get people to play private servers.

I don’t play on private servers because I see it as unethical to support people who make profits off of copying someone elses game, but blizzard did delete soo much from the game that you can’t even play it anywhere except there. That kinda makes me wish I did play on them just for the experience.

I don’t play on pservers. I played on the original vanilla servers. There is so much misinformation regarding dishonorable kills.

They do not prevent griefing. They simply do not.
They are not pvp related. DKs are from killing NPCs.

I’m going to play classic regardless. The point I was trying to make in my post is that DKs didn’t solve the problem they intended to (farming quest givers/vendors and griefing lower levels), they simply made it so people who care about PvP can’t world PvP.

If you’re No Changes that’s great. I just don’t think that making civilians invulnerable or untargetable by the opposing faction has any impact on the gameplay at all. What it does solve, is making world pvp not cripplingly punishing for those who care about the ranked system.

I really think if you’re pro-DKs, you never PvP’d in vanilla at any casual level. Even being rank 5 or 6 you would have nearly a week of progress eliminated. It felt bad. It was extraordinarily punishing for something that’s relatively unavoidable. If you’re in a 40 person raid attacking crossroads and the level 23 dude who got summoned in pulls the mushroom vendor, your whole raid dissolves and people lose a TON of progress.

The sanctity of No Changes has it’s limit. Vanilla servers had hardware issues that had a 4 day downtime at launch. Are we going to request that as well? What about playtime refunds for when the world server is down for a day? Are we going to say “This is what happened in 2004 so it has to happen now?”

There has to be an element of reasonableness when discussing something like DKs that serve no purpose, are extraordinarily punishing, don’t solve a griefing problem, and negatively impact the people who are participating in the activity.
