You think adding dishonorable kills would change anything? I’d resub just to rack up dishonorable points.
I came into this thread thinking…Maybe a 120 killing lvl 30s is pretty low, but for Elunes sake Man you’re 114 that’s not a Lowbie. You’re just the free kill to get people turn it on.
It does suck being ganked but it happens. Has happened to 3 alts I’ve leveled. Do what I did on my druid when I was 114 and a 120 druid kept killing me over and over. Wait till a 120 from your faction comes and when the ganker is almost dead ress and blow all cds and laugh when you kill them. Yes you piggy back off another player but it’s still funny when you do it

You’re linking something someone posted on the classic forums why didn’t they post it on the customer service forums where they could have checked on it if it was indeed genuine. So no I don’t believe what you posted. I believe blizzard will always go by its old standard they will say there is a PVP solution or the person can turn off War mode.

This is 100% a whine post. Try leveling in hillsbrad on a pvp server in classic. You will get camped until you log out. Turn warmode off and the issue is gone. Why punish a player for doing world pvp regardless of if he’s picking on people or not. That’s why warmode gives bonus experience. To compensate for the time you will lose leveling getting ganked. It’s sorta a high risk high reward system.
It’s a 5 level difference that’s not even scummy. What’s scummy is killing someone your level only for them to log onto their main and camp you for an eternity.
Plus I’m not sure how it works now but you used to get either no honor or less honor for killing someone at a lower level than you depending on how big the gap in level between the players were.

actually if someone is excessively camping you it is reportable as it crosses line of not lettign a person play the game. (iirc has been punished in the past)
Before the servers even went live. Blizzard decided what the rules for PVP
servers, now War Mode, was going to be. Ganking, and camping, was part
of those rules. No need, or reason, to change it. It is after all, players
choice on if they want to allow it to happen to them.

Seriously when classic drops go on a pvp server and find out what a real dishonorable kill is.
I VIVIDLY remember being camped by one level 40+ Hunter for about 2 hours before I finally gave up and logged off to make a new character to wait him out.
At least now you have a choice if you want that to happen.

You do realize that if a guild has both the graveyard and entire surrounding area camped there is no way you are going to be able to use a hearthstone to turn war mode off right?

Have to disagree. I’m currently on a PVP server, along with my partner. On Timelss Isle, he always did the daily in the morning. There was always this one bastard of a hunter that would gank him the entire time he was doing the quest. After a few days and reports, the guy stopped. The guy ended up making an alt, cussing my partner out about getting his toon a 3 day ban.
They do take notice sometimes if it’s constant from what I’ve seen.
I basically went to Hellfire, loaded up Blood Spec, and sat in the room Danath Trollbane is in, slaying him repeatedly to garner the attention of Alliance players, and killing every player who does walk in. After roughly two hours of this, I got suspended for an hour, the reason being I apparently abused game mechanics.
Do you think this was fair or no? I have no reason to appeal, as it was really minor, but still…
So yes in the past they have banned people for griefing.
At least it wasn’t the start of the expansion. Then the 115 would have won hands down. The fact that low level players had to be NERFED in Warmode tells alot.

To provide something other then criticism here are a couple of things I can think of off the top of my head that they could do.
- If killed x times within x amount of seconds of rezing you are granted a 30 sec period were warmode is turned off so you can hearth and turn it off.
- If x amount of players of a faction are killed within a zone within an allotted time period that faction is granted access to abilities that help them. Such as the 40% buff in warfronts or the dark shores ability to turn into a different creature (like meathook.)
- If x amount of players are killed in a zone all major cities open a portal to that zone with a message in trade/general/defense and killing the griefer gives you access to a pvp chest. With associated feats etc.

yes, being killed is part of pvp but excessive camping is considered griefing.
im not talkign about camping a person for liek 10min. im talking basically killign em over course of an hour or 2.
AFAIK the only exception was PvP realms. (WM can’t be toggled if not in main town so i doubt it would be an exception as if you are truly camped you wont be able to get to a town)
nice dude did you type out that evidence yourself? or…game mechanics too that definitely means he was griefing. you are using quotes…probably from these forums as your proof? also did that whole guild get banned? or just one person? who would you report? the guild?
To put it for you this way i was camping rebel camp before i migrated up towards darkshire. One day i was whispered by a GM and then kicked off for abusing game mechanics and kicked off.
I gave daddy blizzard a ring and was told you know what you did, I responded with no i dont could you please explain. I was put on hold for 10mins and then granted 3 days of gametime for free. Not ever told what i was kicked off for.
Your reporting does nothing but good for those gankers. Its a valid way to play this game especially with warmode whether you like it or not. I bet GMs take a shot every time a player complains about war in warmode.
where did you pull that 2 hours from? official statement of blizzard or one of your fake friends? Or was it your imagination that you just kept repeating and eventually, now a days, that becomes fact.
Whats weird is that you say this was ACCEPTED on pvp realms…but not warmode cause “if you are truly camped you wont be able to get to a town”
i feel really good right now. You understand that on a pvp realm there was no turning off right? lol why would it be accepted on pvp realms but not in warmode?
i got this jim, cause in warmode you cant get to an inn while being camped. Therefore the game is unplayable. BUt it was accepted on a pvp realm cause guys can just log out and play a different character, no need to get to an inn.

I choose one from a griefer and the other from someone who reported for equal representation.
As for my own story (which I haven’t given here although I have at other times) of being camped it happened once in redridge over the course of a week and I just deleted the character and rerolled on a pve one instead.
Although I suppose I should have used the term temporary suspensions and not ban as that indicates a permanent ban.

Now this sound suspicious. I can understand being banned, but you always receive an email with a general reason as to why such as abuse of the economy. I have never heard f or seen a banned over turned and reimbursed however nor can I find an example of such a thing happening. Thats not to say it didn’t and I’ll look to google a bit more but it does seem a bit odd as they reserve the right to ban you for any and or no reason at all.
