Disallow dual spec changes outside of cities

It’s deeply disturbing that you can change your spec anywhere yet a hunter still has to visit an npc to swap out his pet. Dual spec MUST maintain some decency by only being available to swap in a capital city or else it’s completely out of control.

Dual spec was supposed to enable flexibility so people weren’t permanently sewered into a healing/tank role. The amount of gimicks available to this any place swap is nonsensical.

i know right :expressionless: absurd, ridiculous, and retail

It is far from the original I agree, but when the original is why we wanted vanilla to come back in the first place even from the Nostalrius movement, why change the game pulling it further away from it’s original version especially when these realms were supposed to be a fresh Era version for us to get away from the beaten to death Era version we have now.

Vanilla itself evolved throughout, hence why I have repeatedly stressed the fact Classic runs on static 1.12 balance which Nostalrius and virtually every p-server has. Nobody has replicated ‘true Vanilla’ because it is essentially impossible.

You can’t go home again.

“Everyone who disagrees with me is a troll and is on their alt” is one of the biggest schizo takes.

Many people playing Classic want to play Classic as it was. Without the good idea fairys of the modern WoW team and certainly not from the player base. How is it that difficult to understand?

Cool, you have era for as close to that as you will ever get. Anniversary servers are for smaller changes that retain Vanilla’s identity while patching up some QoL issues

You guys don’t like getting called out but I will never stop as long as you’re here trolling.

then why is anywhere dual spec in the game :expressionless:

Because the majority are enjoying it.

You can go play Era if you want :expressionless:

Did they remove Era? :expressionless:

Oh you need fresh? :expressionless:

Well this is the one you get :expressionless:

the majority would enjoy a lot of retail features :expressionless: doesn’t mean they should be in the game

The majority have never once been wrong before correct?

You can play retail/sod if you want

Did they remove retail/sod?

If you hate what classic WoW is so much why aren’t you back in retail that is full of all the convenience you can ever want. Literal Californian leaving their state and moving to a different state while voting in Californian policy in other states logic.

It’s fine the way it is. If you don’t want to use dual spec, then don’t buy it.

If you don’t want to use this moped for this footrace we were supposed to run then don’t use it.

That logic only works for single player games, falls flat when talking MMO’s when not having it puts the player at a large disadvantage for not using it.

Classic WoW is not a “footrace”. It’s a casual game that dads with families play.

What is the impact of this disadvantage? Please elaborate drama queen.

Blizzard made me look like an absolute fool by trusting they wouldn’t be foolish enough to allow changing specs outside of a factuin city.

Fix this problem or just remove dual spec.

I defended it but not if im earching streamer get twice the loot because they can just swap whenever they want

You’re making a presumption of this being a classic game that’s casual to all players which isn’t true, case in point the parse culture, minimax meta culture, and swarms of Warrior dps players. Do people just enjoy the leveling experience of Warriors that much? I doubt it.

There are people who play it casually (large chunk even) but don’t assume all people treat it as such a casual game.

For advantages it should be pretty obvious unless you’re truly dense.

Having a second talent set is a massive advantage for both pve/pvp encounters where you can optimize yourself for the current situation you find yourself in and those that don’t can’t compete. At least with era if you want to be the most optimal for PvP and most optimal for PvE you’re going to pay for it.

what? you ever heard of a lock? just hearth out and summon back.

You’re right, which is why they won’t be.

But dual spec is fine.

Thanks for understanding :expressionless:

The game isn’t designed around those players. Never has been never will be. You are not the target audience Blizzard cares about.

You simply pay $15 a month to fund the game for others and you deal with whatever Blizzard gives you.

Ok, and why does this matter? What exactly are people competing for?

Be careful. Your response largely lacks critical thought, so try your best with this next one.

You honestly have no clue what you’re talking (or thinking) about if you can’t understand what having a second set of talents does for you and your overall gameplay experience.

You say the competitive players and the mixmaxers aren’t the target audience, yet that is just personal subjective opinion. Are people who clear mc/ony in week one just your run of the mill dad gamers or are they maxing out and optimizing their gameplay for a goal? (And spare me your “hurr Mc aNd onY isN’T oUT YeT) response, it’s pretty obvious this is referring to previous releases of classic.

And to be honest I agree Classic WoW is funner when played casually but you’re very wrong by assuming people just play it casually and judging by the class breakdown there is a significant portion playing the class with the highest dps in the game vs other classes with less dps, I’m sure it’s not for the Warrior leveling experience, just like when we move to TBC the majority will be playing lock.

And your whole idea that just because something is available doesn’t mean someone has to use it is ridiculous. This is an mmo where players are competing with other players for loot, invites, etc. and by choosing not to engage in Chronobooms/dual spec/etc. you by default put yourself in a weaker position than someone who is engaging with said additions. As I said earlier you can do this in a single player game, you can’t in an mmo and want to be competitive to others.

Ultimately though, it shows a lack of forward thinking and what this change will do to how the game plays out, for better for worse we don’t know admittedly but Classic WoW is a timeless game, if it wasn’t than there would be no reason thousands of people are playing it many years later from when it first came out. Classic “if it’s not broken don’t fix it.”

Believe it or not I feel SoD was a great testing ground for those wanting changes so my question to you is if you want changes why aren’t you playing there or on retail which has even more qol and convenience than classic ever had?

TLDR: leave Classic alone and accept its issues or go play SoD/Retail.
