Diablo Immortal

They are being predatory. I didn’t assume anything at all. They are preying on people with an addiction. If you don’t care about that, then fine, don’t care. But at least call it what it is.

I mean, I dont blame mcdonalds for being open when people are overweight. lets see that same energy

If you cannot see the difference between predatory exploitation of an addiction by providing a free game and then making it near impossible to keep up unless you use a micro-transaction RNG system and a restaurant that is required to put the calorie count and provide their customers with the list of ingredients, then

And BTW, McDonald’s did get into trouble for predatory practices with their happy meals. By law, they had to adjust the calorie count of the meals to meet a specific guideline set by the government. That’s why if you get a happy meal, you get an itty bitty bag of fries and apples.

Nobody is forcing anyone to make a purchase. There is a difference.

ah so you still have the option to skip the apples and get extra fries? whats stopping someone from ordering another order of fries? oh the humanity think of the children!

Am I supporting the game by just playing but not spending a dime? Also, I’m going to do the exact opposite of what Belluliar advises everyone to do.

It costs up to $500,000 to fully upgrade a character.

They shouldn’t have announced it at all.

Paying is optional though? I really haven’t gotten far, I’ve been busy this week.

No, actually you do not have that option. Every order must contain apples. This is what happens when companies use predatory practices. Government gets involved and over regulation happens.

No, they are using predatory tactics that prey on a psychological disorder by luring people in with a free game (and in this case, one that looks good and plays well) and then once people are hooked they exploit this disorder. You might not care about it and that’s fine, however, it can lead to social issues and ultimately over-regulation.

It was nice chatting with you, however, this is going in a circle so I’m dipping out of the discussion.

Only if you want to max out your character in a day.

It is optional.

If an in-game shop, that in no way inhibits you ability to play, that you have to click through a menu to get to just to see what you can buy is “predatory” to you, than the issue is you, or whoever the person is that has the mental disorder that compels them to buy anything they see.

I logged in multiple times today and the only time I was directed to the store, was when my FREE daily reward was in the store, then I had to actively click on the notification (that was just a small red dot on the messages tab) before I was directed to the store and, yes, there are two items that cost money next to the FREE daily reward, but it is nearly impossible to accidentally click on them and if you do click on it, it is because you decided to, you were not forced to. I claimed my free reward and then closed the store and got back to the game, was not difficult at all.

If you choose to skip that and just play free, it will take 10 years to catch up to where the guys who paid $100k (or $500k according to a different analysis) are on day 2.

Don’t worry, they just made a change that guarantees you will never catch up if you don’t pay.

Or in less than several years of playing it, while accepting the fact that you’ll have to headbutt multiple walls along the way, and that if you decide to go into pvp you’ll be at a significant disadvantage against anyone that drops even a fraction of the amount of money needed to max out a character.

Don’t make the mistake i did and do a mage to 60. Go demon hunter or necro. Those 2 are god mode.

I literally just bought a happy meal and they asked if I wanted extra fries or apple slices and I took the fries. So LOL

Sounds like your preforming outstanding mental gymnastics to justify your own salt. While were at it, lets blame vending machines for people being unhealthy. I mean look at all those sugary goodness treats for only a dollar! WHOA!

Its alright if you wanna run away. You didnt really have an good argument anyways.

This didn’t age well.

:man_shrugging:t4: if you say so

I haven’t bothered downloading it yet but when/if I do I won’t spend a cent on it.

100k - 500k to max a character, and if you don’t log in everyday you lose certain premium items.

Okay. Still don’t care.
