Diablo Immortal

He does do great content. Very chill, approachable news type videos, no drama.

Very very nice person IRL too. Spent a fair amount of time with him and others in the Diablo community at various Blizzcons.

In life, the rich will always be willing to pay to have an advantage over others that are less fortunate, a mobile game is no different.

If anything it’s more like Diablo 3.5 as it has way more to do than D3 does based on what has been shown, the graphics are also superior too so there is that much I guess. Thankfully it is free and will be on PC as well, not just mobile. Play if you want or just don’t?

The majority of people who are going to spend money on Diablo Immortal are likely not rich people, but people who only ever play one game and therefore have an open budget to spend on their game. That is typically how it works with most live-service games (Fortnite, Apex Legends, etc.).

This is also a stupid video because it doesn’t really matter.

Whales will always find a way to justify their spending habits on supporting the P2W business model.

Assuming you’re implying that I am a whale, I can confirm that I haven’t spent a single dime on any cash shops for any game. It doesn’t appeal to me to spend my money on microtransactions because I play many games, not just one. I would rather take that money and spend it elsewhere because spending it on microtransactions would be a waste for me, considering how often I jump between games and get bored with them.

If the game is fun, none of this will matter.

Will you be able to play the PC version with your keyboard and mouse?

Yes. You can play on PC with either a keyboard/mouse or a controller.

A DIABOLIC CONTROL SCHEME

FAMILIAR TOOLS

To stay true to the Diablo experience, we meticulously translated the finger tapping and swiping controls from mobile into the age-old mouse and keyboard. Much like previous Diablo titles, you’ll be left-clicking to move your character and attack monsters while pressing keys to perform abilities and drink potions.

NEW TO THE ARSENAL

While not a part of Diablo’s history, we decided to include W/A/S/D directional controls as an additional movement tool. The reason behind this choice was that we felt it was an intuitive way to move your character around, instead of relentlessly left-clicking for both moving and attacking. In addition, moving while attacking simultaneously, such as with certain charged abilities, is native to the game on mobile and we wanted you to be able to do this too. A simple mouse control scheme would not have allowed for these operations.

Not that I’m unhappy about the pc port in any way, but it does make me feel really bad for Wyatt Cheng. Poor guy really got thrown to the wolves at that blizzcon announcement. If only this port had been the plan all along so he could have given more favourable answers.

While I’m always going to side-eye any free to play economy, I hope the game itself is an absolute cracker for the sake of the people who have worked so hard on it. It’s been noted all around that this game has had a staggeringly long development time for a mobile game. That indicates some real care has gone into it.

“Just Diablo 3???”

No, no, no. Dear, naive customers. This is so much more than Diablo 3. This is Diablo 3 with Micro-transactions and Loot Boxes!

GET PUMPED! You’re going to have so much broken and useless crap to throw money at just to bypass timegates and grind mechanics.

Yea…that is the worst part. I would have been fine with the battle pass and transmog only things but they really pushed it to the next level. It is a fun game and all for what was suppposed to be mobile only, but I have had issues with the PC beta, weird bugs and crashes basically. I really wish they just made it for PC, it could have still had the battle pass and that is fine for free to play games and transmog stuff. They put a lot of time into the game and I get that it has to make money but it is so far over the line right now.

Hell has arrived in Diablo Immortal! It’s a microtransaction mmorpg! You have to Pay2Win. I understand all phone apps are annoying with ads and microtransactions. That’s how the developers pay for the game and make profit. But is this a good way to win Blizzard fans back?

Of course not…

It costs $110,000 USD to max out your character in Diablo Immoral. If you support this game, then Inhale that copium until you do us all a favor and OD.

I doubt people will even pay it so who cares. Its just a mindless hack and slash game. Its not required to pay for anything and the fact your so angry by an optional payment for a game you knew you were never going to play anyways is just pathetic.

People will pay for it and they won’t realize how much they are paying because they are micro-transactions, not one straight price. Blizzard is being blatently predatory.

My crystal ball says that at some point government is going to get involved and all micro-transactions are going to be heavily regulated.

Yes it is basically D3 mobile with really over the top pay 2 win.

are they being predatory or are you just assuming everyone’s an idiot and cant control themselves from verifying a transaction?

I mean if people like you keep complaining about an optional choice thats not mandatory at all then who knows.
