DH 3rd Spec - Healer (DPS oriented) that can also Summon

DH’s need a 3rd spec.

I’ve always wanted to try out healing the way a disc priest does - through damage.

I’d even love to see it done without mana - but that’s icing on the cake.

Also - we’ve added paladins (I think?) to classes that can brez. We can give DH’s the ability to summon so that warlocks aren’t the ONLY class that can summon. Raid PUGs will REALLY APPRECIATE this one btw. They already use similar schools of magic, so I don’t feel like it’s an “atrocity” against lore.

Thoughts?

Yall need to stop with this demon hunter healer nonsense.

If demon hunters get a third spec it should be a ranged caster spec. Not some shoehorned healer spec that makes zero sense.

If DH gets a 3rd spec anytime soon, it would be a support role akin to augmentation evoker.

If augmentation hits a home run, they’d be looking at quickly rolling out at least one other support spec, if not a 3rd. DH would be shoe in for classes to get another spec added.

“No one move, I’m casting my hasten sigil on the ground and it needs 2 seconds to then go off”

Damn meta could also pulse buff/heals as their raid cd.

Healer? nah.

A support spec, however…

You wanna take summons from warlocks as well?

Sorry but healing would be the opposite of what Demon Hunters do. If they get a third spec I’m either expecting it to be a medium range 2h DPS spec themed off Allari the Souleater and Devastation Evoker and/or a support spec that involves mutating your allies or debuffing your enemies.

Both DH specs heal alot…

I like a Dreadlord concept a lot more. Turning into a swarm of insects/bats, being stealthy occasionally, hiding in shadows, hunting your target down, leeching the life out of them and perhaps spreading it to your allies with a Vampiric Aura.

3rd Spec Suggestion: Dread

Summons and casters are going to end up too Warlocky. There is window to give DHs more ranged spells but they still got to go melee.

Yeah, by killing things. Not at will.

This game has too many specs already. We do not need more.

And… isn’t the idea proposed to be a healer that heals by dping? They already summon orbs to heal and thier base leech could be repurposed as an attonement.

I personally don’t think they would ever make a dh healer but your reasons against it are moronic.

I’d love summons and lock rocks to be given to a couple classes, they’re just too useful and it sucks when you don’t have a warlock.

I’d go

Summon

DK summon using their death gate
Mage summon with portal, seems obvious but they already have food and lust… so I’d probably go druids summon with some emerald dream BS.

Lock rocks
Hunters prepare a bowl of scavenged survival food
Monks serve out a nice selection of dumplings.

Why don’t you try and heal a raid without casting a single ability that isn’t an attack as a MW or HPally.

Actually, I think Demon Hunters are already healers. I can put out a respectable amount of HPS as a Vengeance DH by DPSing so that’s the same thing as fistweaving or avenging crusader, right?

No class that can heal exists without baseline heals that can be cast on another target. They would have to redesign DH from the ground up to accommodate it. Use some critical thinking next time.

I’d prefer another 25yrd spec designed around throwing glaives.

Well yeah? That is the point of this thread? What are you even arguing here.

Forget the summons or whatever but the idea from the op would be a disc or fistweaver style healer on a dh. It seems at least in the realm of possibility with how dhs operate, again I don’t think it will ever happen.

So I’m confused at you thinking avenging crusader is some weird argument when that would actually be a very good idea (meta that heals off damage).

Ranged spec better idea. You want to be an emo night elf that heals and does a bad job at it, then roll a shaodwpriest and heal in that as a night elf.

Wonder if they’d eat their words about chaos brand being “an added perk” instead of something DHs are brought to raids for.
